Alex went back to the states after a two week trip yesterday. Unfortunately, that's the last we'll see of each other until I fly over on the K1. A nice, normal timeline would put that around mid-August (I think), meaning a rather unpalatable 5 months apart. I'd rather hoped last year, after finishing my degree and having spent 3 months apart, that that would be the end of having to punctuate our relationship with such lengthy periods of estrangement. I was, alas, naive to the intricacies of K1 processing.

Still, I won't complain, for there are those on here enduring worse, in some cases even without Skype, and their perseverence and relentless ardor are an example to us all. Have taken a similar approach to others with the time apart, too - working myself to the bone and attending the gym religiously.

On a side note: a quick word of congratulations to soontobe and Ash&Ham - the first of our group to hop the halfway mark on the spreadsheet :)

Thanks for the note! I hope we really are half way there!! I guess it it more like half way + two months, being that the 5 months does not include the time it takes for the emabassy to send the third package, us to send it back, then wait for the date of the interview. I know that through the embassy that St. Lucian's use (it is in Barbados) that process takes roughly 2 months! grrr!

Anyway, yes, you have reminded me have how fortunate we, and some others are.

Take care, keep strong!

Thank you! Is the same form used for Co-Sponsors too?

I know that the same form, I-134 is used for cosponsors but how are cosponsors supposed to answer the following 2 questions:

#3 this affidavit is exucuted on behalf of: (Is it on behalf of the petitioner or the beneficiary?) i dont understand how either the sponsor or cosponsor should answer this question

#10 I have submitted a visa petition(s) to US Citizenship and Immigration Services on behalf of the following person(s): (Do they put NONE, or right the beneficiaries name?)

I'm having a really hard time getting these two figured out.

I just did something very random and called USCIS, basically out of interest of how it works.

I played very dumb and acted as if i knew nothing about processing times ect, and after the lady asked so many legal questions one after another she asked for my case number and after i gave it, she said, 'it is still in review, and is within the 5 month processing time, but if it goes beyond the 5 month mark then please do not hesitate to call back and we will check again where it is at'

So hopefully vermont is still actually at 5 months and hopefully i can call on june 6th and fine something out.

She did go on to say that that marker is just an average, and sometimes petitions take longer due to the amount submitted and other factors, but that i may call back on june 6th to follow up.... SO THATS WHAT ILL DO.

Im quite happy with my call, hopefully i wont have to call them again :)

ps- i have skype calling credit on my laptop, and FYI it was free when i rang the 800 number from skype

I think you just spoke a few hours too soon haha

VSC have twice as many to approve yet seem to be doing half as many every day as CSC.

Based on these stats, they seem to be doing just fine.

Between 20-35 approvals every week since the start of the year.

I did notice a number of obvious expedite approvals, though.

People from Japan.

VSC have twice as many to approve yet seem to be doing half as many every day as CSC.

Where do you get this number from?

Based on January figures, there are 22,496 cases still pending.

Of those, 11,796 are at VSC.

That's 52.4% of the total.

P.S. January data just got posted today.

http://dashboard.usc...e=6&charttype=1

P.P.S.

The estimated dates for CSC finally stopped spazzing today.

They're no longer a month+ range.

The timeline on USCIS is a little more promising than the timeline on VJ's Igore's List. I do hope Vermont starts working faster though. It looks like, based on history, things could start speeding up soon!

Also, I have posted twice a question about the affidavit of support and how cosponsors answer question 3 and 10 on the I-134, but I have not gotten a reply yet. Does this mean that no one is quite sure yet?

thank you for any feedback you have that can help me with this question,

I've never used a co-sponsor, myself, so I don't know.

Maybe try asking on the main K-1 forum?

You might get a better answer there.

For #3 you put the petitioners name if your the co-sponsor. Question 10 you put the Beneficiary's name.

For #3 if you are the Sponsor then I believe you would put "N/A"

Correction..... if you read #4 it says "This affidavit is made by me for the purpose of assuring the U.S. Governement tha the person named in item 3 will not become a public charge in the united states" So you list the Beneficiaries name in #3 whether or not you are teh sponsor or cosponsor.

For #10 I would put "none (co-sponsor filing with I-129f)"

OMG....i'm seriously having issues this morning LOL.....For #10 I would put "none (co-sponsor filing with I-129f)" if you are the co-sponsor. If you are the sponsor put the beneficiary name and say (filing with i-129F). Ok, I hope i have communicated better with my last 2 posts. So sorry for the many replies. Thank you so much for your reply!

So, what you are saying is that you think it goes like this

Sponsor filing:

#3 - Name of beneficiary

#10 - Name of beneficiary, filing with I-129f

Cosponsor filing:

#3 - Name of beneficiary

#10 - None

I guess this makes since.

I really appreciate it!
