I was just reading the Tweet the USCIS. I think it could possibly be dangerous unless its the American Citizen themselves doing it. We reeeeaaallly don't want to piss off USCIS if its the "foreigners" doing the tweeting.

Yeap, that's a very good point! I was contemplating whether to sign up on Twitter myself just to be able to tweet USCIS, but I would rather not since I wouldn't use it for anything else. Facebook is enough for me :-)

Hello fellow January filers! :P

Here's the case: I am the beneficiary and i am currently working here in UAE. WIth all the things that are happening in the middle east, me and my fiance decided that i should go home to my country which is the Philippines. My questions are:

1. how are we going to transfer the consulate from Abu DHabi to Manila? will it be by writing? call USCIS? fax them? (also, what are the details they need or paperworks)

3. will it affect the process time since it will be transferred?

2. do i need to get a police certificate for UAE since i stayed here for more than 6 mos?

please help me guys since im going to leave UAE soon.

thank you all in advance! :D

Hi, I recently had a similar question for my fiance, who is the beneficiary, but we ended up not needing to change his address afterall. I think you should call USCIS on the 1-800 number and talk to a customer service rep. They will be able to tell you the proper process for changing the address of the beneficiary. It is a change to the I-129f form.

Best of luck,

Ashley

Are you looking at the Igor's List on the site, or the one here?

The problem with the second one is that all the people who are still listing 'Texas' as their service center get grouped in to Vermont. Even though a good number of them are probably California folks. That's why I've actually gotten into the habit of PMing people with Texas approvals asking them to update their service center.

As for actual stats,

It looks like California had less in October than Vermont, but more in November and December.

(Using the numbers here)

---

Anyways, start of a new week!

Hopefully we'll see some more approvals today from both service centers.

On a positive note, both Kata and I have lost over 30lbs a piece now on our diets.

Still dealing with the usual separation stress, even though we've got about a month before my trip over to the UK to see him.

Welcome to Monday, January filers!

I-134.

The I-864 is for when you're doing the AOS.

But the requirements are the same for both forms (poverty guidelines).

Last week I filed to have my case expedited based on some of the criteria they lay out. I received an email stating that my request for an expedite was denied. They told me that because they are receiving such a high level of request for expedites at this time, they are unable to approve my request, stating that they are strictly following the guidlines at this time.

I had heard from previous Peace Corps Volunteers that USCIS usually expedites the petitions of returning volunteers as a courtesy. They do the same for military. I'm told that it makes their job a little easier knowing that we lived and worked in the same communities with our fiance's for as much as two years. They know that Peace Corps staff where we live keep a close eye on the volunteers and the types of friends they make so as to preserve the image of Peace Corps. This makes's them faster to beleive the authenticity of the relationship.

Anyway, I had to at least see. So... still in the waiting game with everyone else.

As a last note, for those that are considering filing an expedite, understand that the service centers are being inundated with these requests right now.... perhaps contributing to the slow down in application processing. Had I realized this I probably would not have filed, knowing that my case did not strictly follow the guidlines. In the end, I feel like I just wasted someone's time, which could have been spent reviewing applications. :bonk:
