Hey Guys. I just noticed that I was last updated the 15th of Jan. meaning they touched us a couple of days after NOA1 xD I don't really know to if it's worth putting in the signature though LOL

Well I would call them and complain about sexual harassment if they touched you..lol.

I called today as I still have no access after an email...they continue to do NOTHING to get this fixed. Guy said nothing has been done, even though I had to send in the corrected forms. Little worried because of that and no updates showing in the system.

Hi everyone. I guess we are all in the same waiting game here. How do I get on the list of January 2011 filers? I've linked my visa time line to my profile, but I do not see me on the list of January filers.

Also, does anyone know if this process moves faster for US Peace Corps Volunteers? They might be able to skip a lot of the background checks. Just hoping!!

I served in St. Lucia as a volunteer and now I live and work here. I am fortunate, in that I am currently living with my fiance in St. Lucia, but am oh sooooo ready to get back to the states after being gone for nearly 3 years. We are both ready to move on to the next phase of our lives!

I can no longer say that I've never been touched. xD  LOL

Guess you could say even a month after my petition is filed, it is still a virgin...never been touched.

For those that get to see their significant others before they come to US, be very glad. Oksana and I do not have that ability as easily and will likely be waiting until the interview to be back together.

Yeah, unfortunately like my youngest daughter says...it seems like forever, when are they gonna be here. Well instead of letting the process get me down, I decided to allow my friend who also happens to work for my congressman take a crack at them. After emails, several phone calls, I can't even get access on the computer much less a human even tell me the revisions to my petition have been put with the file. So, since there seems to be a level of incompetence on my case, yet there has been at least 2 others rushed through from February for no apparent reason, I will let his office see what they can do. Perhaps enough situations like this happen, and USCIS will be forced to correct its terribly flawed system.

Hi everyone. I guess we are all in the same waiting game here. How do I get on the list of January 2011 filers?

There is a link in my signature to our group list.

It's editable, so you can always update your information when you need to.

Also, make sure you update your VJ timeline to show that you're at Vermont (it still says Texas).

Welcome!

I've added you to the list.

Well, it's the start of a new week, folks. Unfortunately, due to the holiday, I don't expect much movement on petitions today. So I'm contenting myself with offering up some other successes that aren't visa related.

So far, I've lost 23.8lbs since the beginning of the year. Kata has lost about 20lbs as well. So we're both doing really well with our diets. I seem to see/feel more changes than he does with the weight loss, though. I wonder if that's a guy vs girl thing.

This is Kata's last week living with his ####### landlord. He's moving out on Sunday. Apparently, the remaining people in the building are getting together to write a 'sternly worded letter' to the council about the landlord's bad business practices. (To which a new insult has been added to injury. They are paying a flat fee for gas service. There /is no/ gas service.)

I'm not sure what to think about the couple of people being approved out of February. To be honest, I was mostly hoping that we'd start seeing Octobers getting approved this week. For now, I'm just playing the waiting game. It's two months until I get to see Kata again, and that's something to look forward to.

Howdy mates!

Congratulations Kats on your diet. I lost myself 40lbs, but it took me 12 month and looking for more progress. From Igor’s list 99% of cases are from August (for now it takes 6 month from NOA1 to NOA2). I think sitation in USCIS is all American filers (me including) fault. We voted or didn’t for people who do this to us.

I have two Questions about it:

1. Why 15 minutes work takes 6 month to do with lock of customer service?

2. Why in country of the presumption of innocence I have to prove them that I am not crook? I just want to get married and be with my future wife.

I wish I had answers for you, but I don't. This is my second time through the process and I'm not any wiser than I was the first time. I do think the idea that it takes '15 minutes' is a bit of a misnomer, though. I've heard the number thrown around a lot, but I wonder where it comes from. Anyone know?

Warning: Another TwoCats series of number crunching is to follow. Ignore if not interested.

Anyways, if it /did/ take 15 minutes to complete a case, then a single adjudicator could complete 32 cases in a work day at max, if they did nothing that day other than work on cases. At 20 work days in a month, that means a single adjudicator could complete 640 cases at max in a month. Of course, this is assuming that they did /nothing/ else but work from log-in in the morning to log-out at night on cases, which I find very unlikely. I'm sure there are other things they have to do each day other than just nose-to-the-grindstone processing of cases. Meetings, coffee machine, water cooler, bathroom breaks, and of course - walking to the shelves to get a new box of cases!

Then you consider that there are 400,000-500,000 cases going in every month. When I expand this out, it means that to just keep up with the cases in the queue, it would take at a minimum, 620 people working non-stop, every day, with no vacations to keep up with a normal month's worth of petitions.

End Number Crunching.

I have no idea how many people they actually have working as adjudicators, but it's sometimes hard to remember that we make up only 1% of the petitions that come in every month. For every one of us, 99 petitions of some other type pass an adjudicator's desk. It's not /our/ "15 minutes" that take a long time, it's theirs.

As for your second question: If you feel that way now, trust me, you'll feel it worse at AOS and ROC. By the time you've had to prove your relationship was real for a third time, you get a bit tired of having to prove yourself over and over again to the government.

Henry Ford has already solved this problem. Two people that has only 1 function in life will be quicker than 1 person having 2 functions in life. They need to get to that point. Every petition can be broken down into functions that 1 person can sign off on, and when all functions are signed off on, the petition is ready for approval...which is another function, the last one before NVC. Until they get to that point, they will always be behind the 8 ball, saying they need more money and more people. Assembly line and technology is the only thing that will make this process better. But until there is an incentive to make it better, it will be just another day.

Update for those Russian filers:

If you significant other tries to send you something from Russia, it must weigh under .5 KG including the package weight. I will be calling postal service in US tomorrow, but I guess they put restriction on for terrorist reasons. I will keep everyone posted on this. Unless there is a way to put people on some sort of safe list for sending, (which I doubt, but gonna complain and try anyways), then I guess it is paying way too much for DHL. Ughhhh!

Hello, January filers! Cheer up!

I know it's a loooooong boring wait. And my university is closed down due to the flu epidemia, so all I have left is the gym, a couple of kids to teach once in a while and my textbook of Spanish... But I'm really trying to enjoy myself and I've been listening to a song, which really helps to stay in a good mood.

Check it out and SMILE :)
