Welcome.

For now I've added you to our group.

If you end up being February, that's fine. Just let us know!

Welcome!

Adding you to our group.

Also added efef who requested to be added in PMs.

------

It's the start of a new week everyone, and the end of January!

I'm actually looking forward to putting these first 30-days of the process behind me.

Still feeling kind of stressed/worried, to be honest, but Kata has been more supportive than I could have ever asked for. He's such a sweetheart. Hopefully he should have internet back this week, so that'll take some of the stress of of things. He's still looking for a place near his work, though. One that doesn't have ####### internet and jerkface landlords.

Oh, and I'm down 3.2lbs this week, and he's down about 5lbs. So we're doing quite good on our diets, too!

how i wish i can start on my diet..always say, "i promise, ill start dieting tomorrow"...i say that everyday btw, still havent started

so congrats to you!

Then again, I'm also hoping that California keeps up a good pace, too. eheh.

OK, so this weekend I found an error on my forms I submitted. The type of error that well, is really really bad as it looks like I purposely left off information if they pulled my records. The type of error they do not issue an RFE for, the type they deny. So, this weekend I corrected my forms, wrote a letter and got around all the documentation to mail in, and included a copy of my I-797C. I called this morning because I was hoping they could put a note in the computer that a package was on the way with corrections, so the adjudicator when they got to my file would expect it there, and if it wasn't there look for it. The lady didn't even ask for my receipt number, didn't want it, wanted to ask me a ton of bogus questions even after I explained the situation, like she had this list of questions, and since mine wasn't on her script...her response was, well just send it to the address on the I-797C...duhhhhh, already knew that.

So I put everything in the mail over lunch and they will get this tomorrow. My worry is this paperwork will get misplaced and the original petition will be looked at without this revision, and look as though I concealed information that in all honesty, was forgot about. Any words of wisdom??

James & Oksana,

I believe what you had completed was good and make sure that you do have a copy of what you resubmitted in case an RFE does get generated. May want to also send an e-mail to CSC if you can. I can't add anything else.

This is one of those million times you wish that they had a more "client oriented" approach. You are just left wondering if they ever did get what you sent, if they are working on it or if it's even LOST. When we couldn't get an answer from the 1-800 number my fiance called a number I found for the Texas Service Center, they said that they couldn't give personal information about the packages... my baby insisted and they said: "Yeah, they're sending your package back." All he needed to know! Maybe you could just give it a try and call your service center, though it's a long shot. I seriously hope your package doesn't get lost, and since it's already been routed you'd have to send it to the CSC.

I really don't know if it's best to wait for an RFE (since you say they could flat out deny you) or send the papers now and hope they don't lose them.

You know... now that I was writing this... I had an epiphany LOL I mean, you're not sending original copies, the worst that could happen would be that they lost it, but this would be, in the end, the same as you just waiting for an RFE.

I'm going to see if I can get a number for CSC, and even if they reject your call you could still try.

Of course, this is all just my personal criteria. I'm no pro and I cant guarantee it's gonna work.

THE BEST OF LUCK!!!

Diana

Maybe you'll get "lucky" and get an RFE after all, do they really flat out deny petitions for errors? Even if it might look like you purposefully left out information, they might still give you a chance to rectify it by sending an RFE. You sure it doesn't look like an accidental error/misunderstanding that they might inquire about first before denial of the petition?

I wish you the best of luck that the papers make it to your petition!! I agree with Diana, their customer service leaves a lot to be desired. I get that they are busy, but in a lot of cases I think they would actually save time and also have it easier themselves if they offered better customer service. :bonk:

Hope all the January filers are having a great Monday! :) I still have no access to our case online, I will wait until it has been 30 days and if still nothing, I'll try and call customer service, lol :P

Oh and I LOVE how active VSC is at the moment. So good to see

I have been married twice. My first wife up and left. My second wife tracked her down and was allowed to adopt the kids from the first marriage. That was over 10 years ago. Because of the length of time, and just the fact I really do not think about it much, I left the first wife off the paperwork. Of course all of my past Oksana is aware of, like I said it was a oversight of mine in paperwork and generally just not thinking about it that much, as I do not deal with the first wife at all, just the kids adoptive mom now. Anyways, yes I think based on what I know, they would out and out deny it as it would appear as if I was being dishonest. This is why I went ahead and sent it, am keeping copies of what I sent and the receipts of delivery so should there be any question about me not disclosing it, I can prove I did. Hate this, it out and out sucks as I should be able to know for sure this is looked at, and there is no real way of knowing they will when time comes a few months from now.

I hope that they get the additional paperwork and can put it with your petition, since it hasn't been so long since you filed it is maybe not buried under loads of other applications yet. Or maybe they put a note into their system that once your application is pulled they will be able to assign the additional info. Who knows how USCIS works, it's a big mystery to all of us and sometimes even for them I think  Best of luck!!!
