I'm guessing you'll be able to see it in a few days.

Sometimes you have to learn to speak USCIS.

If your NOA1 date is January 20th, and they say you won't be able to check status until February 20th, it means: Wait a month before calling us back. (And my translation is: It'll probably be fixed in the next 30 days, so ####### off for a while and leave us alone)

LOL. You're probably right. Good to know we have someone here who is fluent in USCIS :P

I guess things just work in a random order, huh. I could check my online status hours after receiving the e-notification. I don't know if it was the green rejection special attention sheet or not, but I guess it had some to do with it. Hope that all of you get to see it soon! I think im taking mine for granted and not checking it everyday. It's always the same.. Just an Acceptance Notice, pretty much like the email they sent with the e-notification.

Yeah, even if I could check it online everyday, I would not. Drive me crazy...so it is better not to even concern myself with that. Work on preparing the house, work on learning more Russian words, and spend what time I can with my fiancée on Skype. All else is pretty much a waste at this point.

I kind of forced myself not to check it until the I-797 arrived, so I'm not sure of the exact date it got put up.

First time I checked and logged in was yesterday, and it was all present and accessible.

I check a couple of times a day just because I'm waiting to see when it actually gets into the system in CSC.

I think the last time that I went through the process, I'd gotten myself to only checking once a day at max.

For those that are sharing their story, here is mine. Oksana and I met through online dating. We emailed, chatted and texted through most of the fall. I knew pretty early on there was something really special about her, so I started preparing for a trip to go see her. I stayed up very late the night before her birthday because it was morning for her the next day, in order to wish her a happy birthday when she woke. I am not sure why, but when I talked with her that morning for the brief few minutes, in my gut I knew she was the one. So, in early December before I left, I bought an engagement ring and prepared to ask her to marry me. The plan was I would ask her on new years eve.

So the 26th of December arrives, and so does snow in New York. Every flight to New York where I would pick up my international flight was cancelled, and I could not reschedule the domestic flight for 3 days. That of course was unacceptable as I would not be there to celebrate new years with her, and propose. So, what do I do?? I got in my car and drove from Indianapolis area to New York, and with the snow the last 50 miles it took 14 hours!! I arrived at the airport in plenty of time for the international flight, which ended up not leaving until the next day. With delays in New York and Moscow I ended up arriving 1 day later than I planned, which was the 30th.

So when I arrived, her and when I met them, many of her friends were happy that I was able to get there safely, as they had been worrying. She picked me up at the airport and spent the next 12 days together. New years was a magical evening, with many of her friends there, and one of her friend couples that was very encouraging of her and I. She was definitely surprised and shocked. We had already discussed doing a K1 visa, but I do not think she expected a ring or me to propose to her. Honestly I think everything I went through to be with her showed her how much she meant to me, and then to have me propose, she was shocked, but also very very happy.

Everything worked out very well, now we are back apart and I miss her very much. I will not see her again in person until a couple days before the interview in Moscow. This is a very long wait. I already feel as though I have been away from her months, when it has been 16 days.

The K1 visa is for marriage in the US.

You could marry in his country - it would require abandoning your current K1 application (you won't be refunded), going through whatever fiance visa process (if any) is required by Mexico, and subsequently filing for a CR1 spousal visa (should you both still wish to live in the US).

The K-1 is for coming to the U.S. and getting married here as faust said.

I think that you could have an unofficial ceremony (don't get a marriage license, or file any paperwork to register the wedding) for his family.

(Not 100% sure, though - so someone can correct me if i'm wrong).
