Way to go TwoCats! My fiance and I are going to try and get healthier while we wait too. It's been a tough few days as he moves to Texas on Wed. :crying: I know we are so fortunate to be together now but it'll be hard to not be in the same city for 6 or more months because we are so used to it. I guess work will keep me going.....nothing like 24 eight year olds to keep things busy!

Ahh Mondays.

Welcome to another week in the wait!

I'll only start worrying about the online access at CSC if someone /after/ us starts being able to. At that point, I might get a little bit irked.

Things have been a little harder for me this past weekend. My SO's landlord is a <insert expletive for donkey here> and told him the place he lives had good internet. Apparently one of the superiors in the company that rents his flat informed him that he was never supposed to claim it had working internet, and it hasn't for over a year. The landlord also agreed to let him out of his contract due to the issues with being lied to about the internet, and the superior said he had no ability to promise that either. Bleh. So we've been going all weekend only able to talk on Skype via his phone, which disconnects randomly. We weren't really able to do anything together we would normally do so it ended up being /boring/.

When we started this process, the two of us decided to go on a diet together (since we both could stand to lose some weight). So far, since submitting the packet, I've lost 13lbs. He's lost a few kgs but not sure exactly how much (he only started counting last week). Might be a long wait for us, but at least we're doing something to better ourselves, I guess.

:wow: I'm really sorry to hear that! I dont know what I would do without skype!!! And if its just disconnecting in the middle of converstaion/activities I would become rather irritated quickly. I hope this can be solved some how for the both of you. Oh..... way to go on the 13 lbs  Just remember men tend to lose faster then women but in time women do speed up to match them eventually. I personally would monitor inches rather then lbs considering if your working out you maybe gaining muscle which weighs more then fat. Good Luck!!

Woooojo On the diet 13lbs, goood joooob!!! I'm also on a diet and exercice routing! Gets my mind off stuff and helps with the stress. It pretty much gets me in a good mood. Lets keep eachother motivated, please *sad puppy eyes* Sometimes dragging myself to the gym after work every single day is kinda hard...

We used to use skype... after the whole 2 days without skype we started using yahoo and stuck with it 'till now. Im sorry about him not having internet, that really truly sucks.

Best wishes for you guys!!

Thats all we can do is hope....:)

I'm so happy someone else has some hope with me. I try to stay positive EVERYDAY!! I have a feeling when my fiance leaves (very soon) this process is going to be much more exausting knowing we are apart waiting to reunited. With kids and as a nurse its hard for me to leave to visit him in the netherlands. I have my own patients and there is noone to cover me for more then a few days. So we are going to be apart for most of this process. I'm sure its not an uncommon story but still I'm dreading it all together. Ok enough feeling sorry for myself just a few months......WE CAN DO THIS!! :D

I know exactly what you mean. I left from visiting my fiance two weeks ago, and it already feels like forever and we will only see each other once more for two weeks in March and after that we will be apart for 6 months until hopefully I can fly to the U.S. visa in hand. I can't even fathom not seeing him for that long. We have gone through long times apart like this, 5 months, 6 months, but since last August we've never been apart longer than 6-9 weeks. But hey, just knowing this will be the LAST time being apart for so many months, because after that we will go and be with our loved one for good! I try to remind myself of that and it usually makes me feel better

We are the same, not longer than 6 - 9 weeks and that's about all we figure we can stand. The distance and time is so hard, but Skype, email and phones sure help. I'm fortunate to be able to go visit my man while he's working in Japan. I can only go from Feb 18 - 28 due to work but I am hoping, that since there is another job there after this one, I will be able to pack up my apartment and leave work to hang out there with him for a couple months until our reply and RFE comes in. I'm just a little concerned about being away to receive notices etc. Since I filed early January do you think getting back to Vancouver in late June or early July be about the right timing? Looks like it's running over 5 months wait to hear ANYTHING for a lot of people.

The longest we've gone so far is 4-5 months without seeing each other. Right now, looking at 6+ months is a very scary thing. I really want to get out there to visit him during the waiting period, but there is this huge project I'm involved with at work and between the development and testing phases, we may not be anywhere near done until the end of May, early June. And since I'm kind of the go-to, must-be-here- person for the whole project, I'm stuck.

So I'm trying to put in extra effort to get this project moving so that I can be ahead of schedule and hopefully be able to have a week's time where I could squeeze in a vacation somewhere.

Ashley and i are similar. After we met in May, i visited again in July and September, she came here only 3 weeks later in October then i went to Dallas for 2 weeks in DEcember and left 2 weeks ago, but she is here again in 4 weeks!! yay!

I visit again in april, her in June, me again in Aug! so hopefully by June we should have heard something i hope!!

We are both v lucky with our jobs tbh. She is an ICU nurse, so works 3 12hour night shifts a week, so when she visits here she can self schedule so she works the beginning of one week, has 3 nights holiday the next and then works late the week after, so we get 12 nights together. Whereas i have told my employer about filing the other day and they have agreed that i should be allowed whatever time off i want to make this happen. They have been soooo supportive! Basically saying that they know i will give 110 percent the time i am there so they would rather have me there till the day i leave, which is awesome.

I just wish we knew some sort of timeline on it, VSC is not giving me any hope right now. But i have it in my mind i will be in texas for thanksgiving... halloween if im lucky :)

I know vsc is slow right now but i am hoping what i am thiking is right in that they are getting the last of the TPS applications out the way, before totally concentrating on I129F's and clearing the backlog totally my spring :) i HOPE!!

Well thats me!!

Hope you are all doing good!!

Longest apart for my fiancee and I was 3 months: 1 March to 4 June last year, I was doing my finals at uni in London. It was rough, but I always felt we were fortunate to be in the era of the internet and Skype, and it's inspiring to see other couples on here surmount even longer spells apart.

Have tried to arrange trips to fragment the K1 wait into something a bit more bearable. She left on Friday after a two week stay, and will be back for another fortnight in March. Then she and her family will visit sometime in the summer, and you'd hope we'll all start getting our NOA2s around then
