Hi I'm new here and we filed on January 15. I just stumbled on this site and upon reading your post, I just realized that I sent the wrong fee. I know for a fact that the Dallas lockbox had received our application because I checked it at the USPS website. it's now 5 days since they received it and I wanna know how long it will take them to send my application packet back so that I can send them the right amount of check. totally sucks to have gotten it wrong the first time :-(

also if we end up sending it back in February, does that make us February filers? I kinda like the vibe of the January filers!

01/29/11 | Sent I-129F

02/03/11 | I-129F application received in Texas Lockbox

02/08/11 | NOA 1

02/10/11 | NOA1 Hard Copy. Case forwarded to VSC

Mid-Ocean,

One copy for you, one copy for your beneficiary and one copy sent to USCIS Dallas Lockbox. Make sure that that your Filed copy to USCIS has original signatures on the I-129F and related G-325A's. Everything else could be copies as USCIS will request originals if they desire. Hope this helps and any feedback from other members is most appreciated.

E&R4ever

Appreciate the response. Can't believe I'm finally going to get this started.

Welcome :) Lately it's been taking them between 2-4 weeks to send a packet back from TX if there was something wrong, so I'd say just watch your mailbox and get ready to refile right away with the correct fee.

we had the same problem as you guys, wrong fee because it changed just a day or two before we mailed it (and no, it did not cross our minds to double check the fees online :( ). We as well had the special attention sheet and I think that's why we eventually got our NOA1 so quickly. But, what aggravated me the most was that every sheet in our application had a stamp saying DEcember 1st on it, but it took them over a month after that to mail it back to us and inform us about this. I wish they could've just done it right then and there when they noticed our mistake... But, after the initial shock, tears and rage I have calmed down, somewhat...

Patience is not my middle name either - I actually think Worrier should be my first :D

Good luck to you!

Oh man!! Freaking Fees  But im SO GLAD you got it all back to track now. My hubby to be was kinda mad at them, he kept saying that you would think they would let you know if your package is on the way... or something.. anything! But Oh well, c'est la vie.

Lets all help eachother to be calm and at ease... think that in less than a year we will be all cuddly lovey lovey with our half...

We sent ours as a personal check.

It was actually the 'starter' checks that I got when I opened the account.

I worried a bit about using them, but it went through fine.

On this Sunday of prayer, I ask the Lord that all of my fellow filers continue to see progress in their petitions. I hope to see many more NOA1 and NOA2 this week for all my fellow filers here on VJ and our January group. I ask that all of us be reunited with our respective significant other soon, and that those processing these petitions will have all barriers lifted that they may with great agility move these petitions forward.
