Medical done - forgot a copy of my K1 letter but had it on a thumb drive they printed it for me and my Tdap was out of date so I had to go get that done on Georgia St but all went well and my envelope was ready for pick-up by 1:15.

Visa went really well - didn't ask for any proof of relationship, just the basics. Now I am hoping and praying that it's ready for pick-up before my planned trip out of Canada on Thursday evening.

Can't wait to see my love in Hawaii and get married exactly 1 year on day and on the beach close to the place that we had our first date!!!

Then it's SSN application; I-765 (the application so I can work right away) and AOS.

:luv:

Congratulations. kicking.gif

Hello everyone! Geez I haven't been here in a long time...the wedding planning was so exhausting I didn't have time for anything else for the past 6 weeks. Angelo and I got married last Sunday and on Tuesday we filed for AOS, we have already received the email and texts saying they received our application  I hope everyone is doing well and moving forward with their loved ones :)

I have attached a picture of us on our wedding day, everything was beautiful and I am a bit sad (despite the stress) that it went by so quickly!!

Hi All,

I moved to the US in July, got married a couple weeks later, filed for AOS a couple weeks after that, got an RFE, etc, etc. Can't believe we've been living together almost four months. It feels longer than that, and it feels like just yesterday I was waiting and waiting.

We finally got an AOS interview date (late November in San Bernardino, CA), and I'm back here trying to figure out if it's safe book holiday travel back to Canada a week or two after the interview. Seems like I should be getting my AP doc in the mail within the next two week, according to schedule, except that AP documents seem to be sort of all over the place in terms of when people get them. As for the interview, there's no guarantee of instant approval.

Once again, uncertainty is the most challenging thing about the whole situation.

All the best to you all, wherever you're at in the process.

R

July 3, 2011 - POE at Pacific Central Station

July 25, 2011 - AOS mailed

August 30, 2011 - RFE (ARRRRGH)

September 26, 2011 - Biometrics appt

Sept 30 - Response to RFE sent in.

November 22, 2011 - Interview @ San Bernardino. Approved! Went down the street and got a passport stamp too, so I can travel for xmas.

NO MORE DEALING WITH IMMIGRATION FOR TWO WHOLE YEARS! AMAZING!

How long did they tell you it will take for them to process it and for the couple to receive the expedited marriage certificate? We are thinking of getting married in Hawaii, but it would be only a couple weeks before my I-94 expires so I don't know if we should do that. I called them and they said that in addition to pay for the expedite, we could call Honolulu and say that we need it extra fast for immigration reasons and that they would help us out. Did you guys try that?

Ahhhh and most importantly - congrats on the marriage!!!

Thanks! We are still waiting for it. we paid the fee to expidite and enclosed a nicely worded letter explaining why we needed it asap. I also included a copy of my visa and I-94. It's been a month so I'm going to call this week and ask if it's coming soon. My i-94 expires at the end of Nov and I would like to file AOS before then but I'm not sure if it's necessary. From what I've read it's more important to get married before it expires and file for AOS when you can.

Hello, fellow-January filers!

Congratulations to all the newlyweds!

We got married on August 20th, but sent the AOS application just recently - on Oct. 25th. USCIS, here we go again... :)

Approved! Received passport in the mail yesterday.

After all that waiting, the interview took about 3 minutes! How did you meet / what is your fiancee doing at the moment / when do you plan on getting married - and that was it. Approved. Really pleasant and easy.

Should be heading over just before Thanksgiving. Best of luck to anyone with weddings coming up
