Got my interview date - it's August, 1st.

I got a little bit upset at first, cause I hoped to get a sooner date... but then I calmed down - Moscow Consulate makes some people to wait even longer, I guess my date is not that bad :)

Updated my timeline!

So, got the letter from NVC last Thursday, going to call tomorrow to see if it's left yet, & figure out the method to check if the embassy in Paris has received it yet.

I'm currently compiling what I need (as the petitioner) to send her, for her preparation going forward. I am getting together tax documents & beginning the I-134.

Is there anything else, either of us could or should be doing, while we wait for packet 3? She's gotten the police report, & has filed for a birth certificate, as well as studied up on the forms contained in packet 3.

A few other questions...

I believe this is embassy specific, but can she go ahead with a medical?

Is having just the past 2 years of 1040's/W-2's sufficient? (I was unemployed for most of 2008)

I made well above the poverty level last year, & less than that in 2009 (but still above the poverty level)

My employer is of the kind that won't release a Letter of Employment unless it's faxed or mailed to someone/location. Any suggestions?

That's all I can think of for now. I have been searching the forums of course for more detail on all of this, & found good info, just looking for any current, quick tips.

Thanks guys, & good luck to all!

So i just came home from my medical. Since an appointment isn't needed in Frankfurt and they accept walk-ins between 7.30 and 11 AM I was there by 7AM and the first in line. At 7.30 sharp they let us in, and I was done in a little over an hour  Everyone was super nice and professional, and they even gave me a copy of the vaccination supplement without me having to ask for it. It says "complete", yay, and the doc said everything including my chest x-ray looks good so far and if I don't hear from them again, everything else is fine as well and it'll go directly to the Embassy. Hopefully I'll get my Appointment letter next week (I sent out Packet 3 on Monday)... :)

Maybe it takes a bit longer than two days, I'd say wait until tomorrow and if it still hasn't arrived then, call them again. Do you live close to the Consulate maybe? If yes, maybe you can pick it up? Or do you have a different address where they could send it to, like your work address? They could try that...

I still haven't received Packet 3 officially either, but my Embassy told me through Email it would take a few days to send it out and sent me a link to the instructions which are also posted online on their website, so I didn't actually need the letter and they told me to send the documents asap. Now I'm waiting for Packet 4. Hope they're quicker with that one

If your consulate is anything like the Canadian one in Montreal do not wait for the mail to arrive, it may never arrive. (see the http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/296482-k1-ers-waiting-for-montreal)

Everything i needed to do for pk3 was on-line on the Montreal Consulate site.

see http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/index.php?ctry=Canada&cty=Montreal

If they told you they mailed it, find out what was and just send it back.

I hope you'll get your NOA2 soon Janis!! we are also planning a trip to Hawaii sometime in the fall, and also talked about tying the knot there  But, we don't want to have a wedding nor a ceremony, but just have a Justice of the Peace sort of thing without any hassle whatsoever. I've been trying to figure out where and how to do this on Kaua'i, but all I can find is info on Ministers who perform ceremonies - which we will not need nor want. Do you know if it's possible to just go to the Courthouse and if yes, where would that be on Kaua'i? Thanks!
