I did not take a picture. I left a multi pocket folder with her and arranged it in order of likelihood they would ask for it. So birth certs, divorce certs, financial documents first as those are gimmies. Then copies of tickets with originals, copies of passport pages, and then lastly the communications in email and pictures. I did this last because I sent an entire copy to the consulates and hope they will allow me in. Reports are if petitioner communicates ahead of time in such a manner, they rarely ask more than a couple questions and really do not at that point care about more documentation. In the very back is entire petition I sent in minus the birth and divorce certs that I figured they would wish to inspect the originals of.

Yes I agree, that's why I have labeled and ordered my forms and legal documents in the beginning as well, they are only placed inside the folders and are very accessible too. The only thing that has 3 wholes and are in the 3 metal thingys of the binder are the printings of random screen shots of communication between Chris and I.

OK, so even though I saw a DHL package the day prior to my send date from the NVC and it was delivered last Tuesday, the embassy still says they do not have it. I even supplied them the DHL tracking number to begin with. So talked to a lady at the State Department. Not sure if she really knew what she was talking about or not, but she said they do not all go DHL, but some go via diplomatic pouch. I am leaning toward she is just not informed because it is a little coincidental that I was able to find a DHL package just as everyone else has. Really wish if people did not know the facts, they just would be honest. And perhaps maybe, just maybe find a go-getter in the government that when I give them extra info (like the airway bill number) they go look up before they tell me they do not have it.

For us it took 12 days from when NVC said they sent it out until the Embassy told me they received it (after I had been emailing and inquiring every day, cause I was worried too, and always got a negative answer). My guess is that the Embassies are busier this time of year and need a bit longer to log the cases into their system and look at them properly, so even though it might have been delivered, it could be that it's still sitting on a pile just waiting to be logged. Just keep calling/emailing and inquiring about it! Good luck!

Hi! December filer here, but a fellow UK filer, as well.

You should be calling the Department of State for updates on your case status once you know what your LND case number is from the NVC. They can tell you when the petition has left NVC for the consulate, whether or not the consulate has received / logged your case in their system. Or when they've sent out packet 3.

Once the Consulate has logged your case, you can send in the packet 3 forms. You do not have to wait until you receive them in the mail. Also, if your fiance has not received or does not have record of his shots, they can be done at the medical. It will not delay the visa.

good luck

You can also have blood tests done to verify past immunizations, if you don't have the records. Which might be cheaper than getting the immunizations done again.

Don't panic, give them a couple days to look at your petition and then send it out to you...consider that May 31st was a U.S. holiday (the Consulate in Germany was closed that day) and they don't work on weekends...so it's hasn't even been 6 days yet. What you could do is contact the embassy via email or phone (provide your NVC case number etc.), ask them if they have received your petition and whether they have sent out the Instruction letter yet.

In my case, NVC said they sent it out on May 20 but only on June 1st the Consulate said they had received it, even though DHL had delivered it almost a week prior. It just takes them a few days to get to the case, enter it in their system and send out the letters...I still haven't received a written letter but in the email they said I could just send the documents to them per the Instructions on their website without having received the Instruction letter yet.

Okay thank you. in our case the embassy DID sign for it on May 31st (It was May 30th in the states that was the Memorial Day, not the 31st - it is always the last Monday of May) AND still no packet 3 and we cant get through when we call! Arg! If we send what we think goes in packet 3 how do we know what address to send it to at the embassy?

You're welcome.

*****EDIT*********: PACKET 3 is CONSULATE specific. PLEASE make sure you are looking at the US Embassy where you will be filing (this is on your NOA2). The instructions I give below are for people going through the UK CONSULATE - LONDON, ENGLAND ONLY. It MAY NOT apply to you going through a different consulate. Please always verify with YOUR consulate first.

*********

(for LONDON, ENGLAND)

All Packet 3 is ...is a letter containing this link: http://london.usembassy.gov/iv_15.html

Go there. Download your forms, read the instructions. Comply :)

It's that simple.

Many suggest getting your shots done by your GP then bringing your shot records to the medical appointment. It is cheaper that way. But my fiance just opted to pay the medical folks for it. That was easier for him. To each their own!

Sorry, my bad. Hmm, well ours was signed for only 3 days later on May 23rd, if it really went out on May 20th, and the Embassy didn't "receive it", or looked at it, until June 1. I always communicate with them via email, I never get through with calls. And with emails I always get an answer in 5-20 minutes from the Embassy. They sent me a link to their website where it states what to send in for Packet 3 for a K1 and where to address it to. Does your Embassy have that maybe on their website?
