Hey Diana, congratulations on your successful medical. I was wondering, though, what do you mean by "She just said that they had to be at least 5 years recent." I dont quite understand the meaning of that statement. Is that meaning that all the shots have to have been given within the past 5 years?

Sorry, my native language is spanish, I confuse statements with my latin brain.

Yeah, she said that my shots had to be taken in a range of at least 5 years, any shot older than that she wouldn't take in count. I'm sharing my experience, it's probably different for your fiance's country.

I hear ya! Let's hope it ends soon. The NoA 2 will go to your fiance and then packet 3 will take several weeks (I'm waiting and waiting as it's been 3 weeks since my NOA2) but I'm not sure if the consulate uses Canada Post or a courier service like Fed ex.

I'm sure hoping they are alot smarter by using a more reliable service such as FedEx. I have a feeling that if they don't use them they will during the strike at least.

only if you have some serious or contagious illness. yeah. I know it's scary. I couldn't sleep last night. All i kept thinking was: This isin't even the interview and you´re already freaking out Diana! They wont deny you for low blood pressure, they can't even deny you for a positive HIV anymore.

That is correct on the HIV, but it does still raise a further investigation. You have to be able to prove that you are not a public or economic health concern because of the virus. You have to show that you are financially able to bare the burden of costs that comes along with treatment, and that you are not going to spread it to others in the population (getting married and safe sex covers that one)

I'm sure they use DHL. I'll be watching your timeline closely - if we didn't get an RFE we would be on the same schedule. Although I won't be back in Vancouver any sooner than August so I am crossing my fingers that the timing will all fall together for us.

I have a question, guys: I filled out the electronic DS-156 and printed it, so now I don't know whether I should already attach a photo to it, as there is a designated space for it on the form. Do I attach the photo and send it to the Embassy like that, or without the photo?

I'm not sure about with your embassy, but I know that in the UK you don't send any photos with packet 3. Everything is collected at the interview. Maybe check the regional forums and see if there is information for you?

We are just attaching the photos and bringing photos just to make sure. It might be over kill but oh well. The only thing I could find on it was that if you attach the photo you dont need to bring an extra, but that wasnt for our embassy

Which makes us - my goodness - third in line for VSC filers, and fourth overall.

This is driving me a little insane. I'm good to go - police certificate, long-form birth certificate, £5 bottle of champagne et al.

I have to attach them, it says so in the instructions of packet 4.. but then again, I have to take it directly to the interview. Every embassy is different indeed.

Question: Did you find a DS-156 that does not expire may 31? The Department of State site still shows me the old one.

From what I've read, you just use the existing one until a new one is available.

And a lot of times they accept previous versions anyways.

The I-134 is also expired right now.

Yeah, the I-134 is my main concern because Christopher has to bring his and his co-sponsors when he gets here. I still have a month and a half to give in the DS-156.

We are going to play it safe, even after Chris was hired in a job that pays well above the poverty line, he's only been there for 3 months. So just in case, we are taking the papers of a co-sponsor.

Do people think past visa denials/overstays would fall within the remit of the I-129F background check?

I overstayed on the VWP last summer by 4 days, and was denied a B2 visa in December. Slightly anxious that this might be the reason we appear to have been delayed.

I'm not sure if they come up at the initial I-129F background check, but they will definitely come up at the embassy. You have to provide information on all visits, how long you stayed (in days) and also provide information about any visa denials.
