I just wrote the Consulate again and they told me they received my case today!! I'm just happy they have it even though I'm wondering what took them this long

It's crazy....NVC sent mine on the 20th and Vancouver doesn't have it yet Glad you got good news!

I just wrote the Consulate again and they told me they received my case today!! I'm just happy they have it even though I'm wondering what took them this long

It is possible the package was received, but just was not in their system yet. The person at the Department of State says they do not know until the Embassy makes an entry into their system, yet my DHL package was delivered before I even called the DOS.

Hey everyone.

Sorry for not being so active lately. Things have been hectic.

Kata went back to the UK yesterday, so I'm kind of sad at the moment.

He'll be mailing out our packet 3 today.

He has a doctor's appointment for vaccinations on Friday, and the medical on Tuesday.

I went ahead and updated the timeline sheets.

If I missed anyone, please let me know!

So i have not yet received my hard copy of my NOA2 or packet 3 and our Postal Service (Canada Post) is apparently going on strike tomorrow! I'm so angry at Canada Post!

I can't wait to call Erin and tell her on the phone and listen to her freak out along with her mom.

We've been waiting patiently a good bit of time for this.

I hear ya! Let's hope it ends soon. The NoA 2 will go to your fiance and then packet 3 will take several weeks (I'm waiting and waiting as it's been 3 weeks since my NOA2) but I'm not sure if the consulate uses Canada Post or a courier service like Fed ex.

I´m back from my medical. It´s kinda funny how all that talk about vaccines and the Dr. didn't care a bit about them. She just said that they had to be at least 5 years recent. 6 shots and $350 later i'm just waiting for my results that I can pick up tomorrow. I had some previews though: The technician showed me my x rays and said: Clean Ms. Diana!! (I befriended them all pretty quickly xD) The doctor was also saying how much fun I will have with Chris and that she wished me a good trip, an easy flight, and a good marriage. I guess that must mean good news, huh? I'm gonna make a review for future Guatemalan fiance(e)s cuz they make you wait hours and hours (I waited for almost 4) and don't even ask you to take your clothes off. Just blood exams, x rays, blood pressure, heart rate, and vaccines. Easy peasy.

The following conditions will cause you to fail a medical exam:

1. Communicable disease of public health significance defined as the following

• Severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS)

• Tuberculosis (TB)

• Leprosy

• Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV/AIDS)

• Syphilis (infectious state)

• Chancroid (STD, similar to syphilis and herpes)

• Gonorrhea

• Granuloma inguinale (STD, donovanosis)

• Lymphogranuloma (STD, chlamydia)

(if you have one of the above diseases that is treatable the physician will recommend a course of treatment)

2. Lack of required vaccinations (for immigrant visa applicants only);

3. Physical or mental disorders with harmful behavior

(the Civil Surgeon or Panel Physician must determine that there is no harmful behavior associated with the disorder in question. If you have a history of a physical or a mental disorder, there must be a harmful behavior that is likely to recur in order for it to make you ineligible. If your condition has no associated harmful behavior, then you can proceed with your application process.)

4. Illegal Drug abuse or drug addiction

- yes this does include any marijuana use.

Hey Diana, congratulations on your successful medical. I was wondering, though, what do you mean by "She just said that they had to be at least 5 years recent." I dont quite understand the meaning of that statement. Is that meaning that all the shots have to have been given within the past 5 years?

only if you have some serious or contagious illness. yeah. I know it's scary. I couldn't sleep last night. All i kept thinking was: This isin't even the interview and you´re already freaking out Diana! They wont deny you for low blood pressure, they can't even deny you for a positive HIV anymore.

I'm pretty sure I have none of the above illnesses, so far so good. I also have all the vaccinations and no history of mental disorders...and no drugs either. Still scared
