Ok I need help with this one.... Just received an appointment date for my fiance and it is one day later than the NOA2 expiry date. I just emailed the Embassy and asked them for assistance. But what would happen if it expired before he went to the interview or got here? You would think they would already know better since they have all the info in font of them. Anyways does anyone know what will happen?

Although I've heard that the area near the consulate isn't that bad (well compared to the rest of the city), I still can't believe that they ONLY process immigration visas THERE of all places.

That's seriously insane! Mexico is huge and they only have the one place.. and in a very dangerous city. God keep her!

I'm blessed that the Guatemalan consulate is 30 mins aways from where I live, but we are a country that's smaller than Texas... so everything is relatively close by.

I second that! Frankfurt is only 40 minutes by train from where I live and I am so happy about that. I can just go there soon to have my medical and then again for the Interview without having to worry about a hotel or pricey plane/train tickets.

I asked the Consulate today whether they have received my case yet and they said no, even though the package that was sent out by NVC on Friday to Frankfurt (which I was hoping is ours as NVC said they sent it out that day) was delivered this morning. So ok, I guess I was a little impatient and emailed them around noon, so I assume it was still in their mail station and not in their system yet :P I'll email them again on Wednesday.

They told me that my package was sent on friday, so I got my reference number with the 20th of the month. Those were picked up today, according to DHL and there is one for Guatemala. So im pretty sure that's ours. :)

hey Dee, how can you tell if its your package?

TwoCats gave us a set of instructions to kinda "figure out" how to track your package was by seeing all the packages sent out by NVC.

Here are the instructions reposted by TwoCats for us:

1. Go to: http://track.dhl-usa.com/TrackByRef.asp?nav=TrackRef

2. In Reference, enter the info as follows:

EXP DD MMM YYYYA

EXP is constant

DD is the date before the day the NVC said they shipped the case.

MMM is the three letters representing the month the NVC shipped the case

YYYY is the year the NVC shipped the case

A is constant

For example, if the NVC says they shipped the case on February 12 2009, this would be entered as "EXP 11 FEB 2009A"

3. Date range for shipment - From: Enter the date of the day NVC said they sent the case

4. Date range for shipment - To: Enter todays date

5. Keep the rest of the fields blank

7. Once you enter the info, press "Track"

8. After a while you will see a list of all of the packages that left the NVC today. You need to search for the specific consulate.

9. When you find the shipment the corresponds to your consulate, you will see the tracking number that you can record.

10. You can then track the shipment from the NVC to your specific Consulate
