Have any Jan filers still waiting on their NOA2 contacted their member of congress?

I'm wondering if that's our best recourse. VSC appear to be working on late-Feb filers now, and it's been a full week and a half since they issued our service request.

I contacted my congresswoman 2 weeks before the 5 month mark and we got approved the next day. I'm not really sure if that's what did the trick, but never hurts to try. Goodluck!

I've read most people are able to pick it up in 3 days from the local office, so you should be fine; however, best rule of thumb, is to not make any non-refundable plans without the visa in hand.

Great! You can request an emailed version of packet 4 and they'll send it after they reivew packet 3. You might even just get it electronically later today or tomorrow. I emailed the K dept after faxing packet 3 and asked if they'd received it and requested that packet 4 be emailed as well. Then, you'll have instructions how to book the interview and you'll click on a calendar....really simple.

Anyone in Canada - applying from the Montreal Embassy? We are still waiting for our packet 3 to be mailed to us..its been almost a month! and the candian postal strike is still on :( :(

I have asked my fiance to call the embassy and ask about the delay..does montreal embassy use DHL fedEX as well?

Does montreal also email packet 3 if we request it to be emailed to the beneficiary?

pls help...

Hey, guys!

I got financial documents from my fiance and noticed that the amount of income in i-134 differs from the one stated in the letter from work (my fiance is paid hourly and we used an online calculator when he was filling out the form). I wonder if there is going to be a problem during the interview because of that?

Call DOS and ask if Packet 3 has been sent to you.

If yes, no need to wait for the physical copy.

Here's what you need for Packet 3:

I am. :) (female USC)

He got it in the mail, yay!

Congrats on the interview!! Our interview is on July 14th also in the Netherlands, I am the older one in our relationship too (female, USC) :). I wonder if we will get the same questions. I'm feeling really positive about the interview and just praying that all goes as I hope. Did you go to the interview with him? I am unable to attend the interview but if it makes a huge difference I will do what ever it takes to be there. Do you think it makes a difference if I attend or not? Also how long did it take for him to get the visa in hand after the interview?

I went to my interview alone, and it really isn't much of an interview, so I don't think having the USC present would make much of a difference. As long as all the papers are in order there really isn't much they do (the actual time I spent interacting with a CO was probably less than 5 minutes in total, after the first hour of waiting a few minutes to hand them my papers, and after another hour to answer the couple of easy questions). I had my interview on a thursday and had my visa in hand on tuesday (so 3 working days later).

My visa was approved today!!

My interview was at 10 am this morning, at the consulate in Vancouver. There were four K1 people that day, total, and we got to chat most of the morning which was nice. One had applied in October, and the other two in December, I believe. All of use are moving to small towns/the country, which I thought was interesting.

I only brought what I was instructed to bring in the email from the consulate, nothing more, and I just brought it in a file folder, which was good because they take it all apart as soon as you get there. The interview happened at the counter, not in a private room. They didn't ask to see any of the "evidence of ongoing relationship" that I brought. Very friendly staff. They agreed to let me pick up my passport mid-week rather than have it sent by courier.

I got there around 9:40 and was out by noon. Much less gruelling than the medical!

Good luck and godspeed!

July 3, 2011 - POE at Pacific Central Station

July 25, 2011 - AOS mailed

August 30, 2011 - RFE (ARRRRGH)

September 26, 2011 - Biometrics appt

Sept 30 - Response to RFE sent in.

November 22, 2011 - Interview @ San Bernardino. Approved! Went down the street and got a passport stamp too, so I can travel for xmas.

NO MORE DEALING WITH IMMIGRATION FOR TWO WHOLE YEARS! AMAZING!

Two weeks from now, I leave for Russia. If all goes well at the interview, my fiancee will come back with me. Working hard to get the house ready, as 14 days is not much time to get everything done. But it will all well worth it, having my Ксюшка here!!

Congrats to everyone that has had good news. Hoping for many more good news stories!
