Still a bit shocked and overwhelmed here, my fiance is at work right now and I am thinking about our next steps. I am still not sure whether we need a co-sponsor or not..

The 125% of poverty line are $18,387 for a 2 person household this year. My fiance's tax returns for the last 3 years are $19,300 (2008), $23,400 (2009) and $19,300 (2010).

So he is always at least $1,000 above the 125%. Do you guys think we will be fine?

I will be going through the Frankfurt Consulate in Germany.

Also, besides my fiance's tax returns, what else do I need? Bank statements for the last 12 months? A letter from his employer? (Which is his dad and it's a family business, they also don't have an official letterhead or anything. Will that be a problem?) Anything else I need from him?

Thank you in advance!!

I faxed in my checklist today and got an email back from the consulate in Vancouver. I love those guys! I paid the fee on the website and booked my interview: June 24.

They had earlier appointments (the earliest was May 31 -- 20 days from today), but I want to make sure to leave enough time before the interview for that danged australian criminal record check to get back (and enough time after the interview to get my passport back).

This move is getting so close I can smell it!

Raldetta and other fellow Canadian filers...just got my Noa2 pls guide me since ur in the next stages now

I just want to clarify the packet 3 contents which we mail/ fax back to the embassy). Can the packet 3 documents be filled out only by the beneficiary ..or does the petitioner need to contribute or sign some papers for packet 3?

is there a checklist of packet 3 forms that we can use..i really want to prepare packet 3 now as I will be out of the country in a couple of weeks.

And after packet 3 is sent back to the embassy, the embassy will mail packet 4 to the beneficiary (with a date for the interview?)

I hope i have this right..! :help:

Couple things:

C&A, you'll be fine with those amounts. These I-134 is definately easier than the one needed for AoS. Print those tax transcripts and get a letter from his father. If you want to play it completely safe, you can also get it notarized. Do not worry about having it on any kind of offical letterhead.

TNA, this is all the beneficiary from now on. Feel free to start filling out the form immediately and send it in. Definately fax in the DS-230. Are you going to the Montreal or Vancouver consulate? Sorry, missed your last question. After you send in Packet 3, they will send you a letter saying you can book your appointment online. Process is slightly different between Vancouver and Montreal.

For the Vancouver consulate:

Most of the items you have to prepare are to be brought to the interview (criminal record check, immunization records, 156 & 156k). Packet 3 has the full details of these, but some of them take time so you should find the checklist and start working through it now.

The only things you have to mail/email/fax back to the consulate when you get packet 3 (which is just a 1 page letter with a link that anyone can access) are forms DS-230 and the checklist. The checklist asks you to indicate that you have everything ready for the interview, which I don't yet, but I will by the time I have my interview (didn't want to wait till I had it all in hand to book the interview, as I'd then be waiting another month!).

If you email the consulate right after you fax those two things in, they'll email you the link to the site where you pay your fee and book your appointment. That address is all you need from packet 4 (which is just a single page letter -- and I got it today, the day after I faxed my forms in).

July 3, 2011 - POE at Pacific Central Station

July 25, 2011 - AOS mailed

August 30, 2011 - RFE (ARRRRGH)

September 26, 2011 - Biometrics appt

Sept 30 - Response to RFE sent in.

November 22, 2011 - Interview @ San Bernardino. Approved! Went down the street and got a passport stamp too, so I can travel for xmas.

NO MORE DEALING WITH IMMIGRATION FOR TWO WHOLE YEARS! AMAZING!

I'm guessing you live in Calgary from your signature. You'll have no trouble getting an August date. For Vancouver, there is only a 2 week waiting list. If you're going to book your medical at the same time, remember that Woking is only open on Wednesday. Your medical results are available for pickup at 1:30 so I recommend staying a couple days and booking your appointment for the Thursday.
