calls to Ghana

Has anyone tried this phone service to make calls to & from GH ?!?

Never used it. I use Tel3advantage - pretty good rate plus you can track up to 2 months of activity. I download my activity at the end of each month so that I don't loose any. Also, Skype has pretty good plans which are better than making calls through Skype without a plan.

OK - Thanks for the feedback.. I use Rebtel which I am able to track my calls as well, the only downside is it doesn't show my name when I print out the records(it shows his name) but I can still use my phone bill to verify (I hope).. Rebtel rate right now is 18.9 cents a minute has gone down .01 cents (hahaha)

With a Skype subscription you can get 60 minutes for Ghana at 10.8/minute, 120 minutes at 10.0/minute.

With those rates we would NEVER get off the phone for the time being... Even with Rebtel we still manage to speak about 2 to 3 xs a day ... but yeah Skype sounds GREAT!!

I use UStelelinks.com, view and print statements six months back. Rates a lil higher but I been using them for the last year, and good service.

I have been using joinvip for the last 10 months, the service is great and it has affordable rates. They keep records for a year I believe since I am able to view my call history since March 2010. On the history, it does show both phone numbers, the from and the call to.

They came with a new service where if you call Ghana, they now give you a Ghana phone number and the people from Ghana can call you for free, they don't get charged since it seems like they are calling a Ghanian number. When they call you, you get charged for the call at 12.9 cents a minute. I think it's a pretty good considering how expensive it isto call from Africa to the US.

I am not sure how much it would cost to call Ghana but I use localphone.com to call nigeria when my husband was there and it was only .08 a minute. My husband now uses it to call back to Nigeria to communicate with his family....

I use rebtel and used it as our phone record evidence. Didnt have any problems with it. It showed my number as the primary so it matches with all the papers we had my number on.

yes they do they keep them forever the site is very user friendly. It also has the name of the person you are calling there.....When do you leave?

I wish I had known about this site earlier on in the visa journey process! My husband's interview is set for 1/26 and, God willing, I'm not going to have to concern myself with call record details anymore after that.

8 cents a minute is a great rate! I've been using www.zaptel.com for the last 2.5 years and the rate per minute for a calling card that allows you access to the call record details is 11.5 cents a minute (believe me, it adds up when you talk, on average, 2 hrs a day!)

I so understand it does add up I look back now and wish I would have kept track of how much I was spending 2hrs is good I think me and my husband would talk like 4hours sometimes...localphone doesnt charge for you to access your call history. I found out pretty early about localphone before I was using calling cards which was alwaway a hassle becase I would have to drive to the place and buy the cards. with localphone I would just log on from m phone or computer and add credit to my account. I feel you on once the journey is over no more call records I felt so free once he was approved I even changed my phone I was using a blackberry before and it was good because we could use bbm msg which was free because he had a blackberry too.
