Thank you everyone for the infos :) especially to you Beth and Richard :) you two are heaven sent to me :D guess I'll have to follow it up first to St. Lukes and ask them if they already forward my stuff to the US embassy and from then I can start counting the days till I get my visa. I can't wait to fly and see my fiancee again :D

Hi Christine,

I am sure they will get your situation worked out quickly. I just want to be sure I am correct, you did have your Medical exam before you had your interview date, right?

That is important information for others to know since it could possibly result in a delay and above all, all of us want to avoid any delays in our processing.

The system they currently have in place for processing our Visa petitions seems to be set up pretty well. The only glitch I see in it is the Embassy’s reliance upon snail mail delivery to inform people that they are eligible to schedule their interview. Having said that, I also have to say I do not know if that is completely true. Because we did finally receive a letter from the Embassy authorizing us to schedule our interview. It was delivered by Air21 on January 4th, one day after our actual interview and one month after it was the dated (December 3rd).

So perhaps they are using Air21 for the delivery of the letter and 2GO for delivery of the Visa. I guess we will only know for sure by listening to the experience of those processing after us.

I believe their (the Embassy’s) best remedy for this situation would be to add an automated email response to the Petitioner, since their email address is supplied on the I-129F, informing them that their case is now “active” and the Beneficiary is now eligible to schedule the interview. This automated response could also contain the MNL number, a directive to pay the application fee and the URL for the “packet” (Revised K1 Instruction Packet). I think this would eliminate a lot of confusion, if it was reliable.

That is good information aurura07. I am not sure if processing is the same for K1 and Cr-1's Visa's, but that at least shows that their delivery system is working well.
