Hi guys, first of all I would like to thank you all for patiently answering all my queries here in VJ :) this site did a pretty good job in helping us process our K1 visa....I just got APPROVED TODAY!!!!and my fiancee and I are so happy about this news. but I have another question...it actually took me 9 hrs. before I got approve because my medical exam and passport is not yet in the USembassy. Does any one know here how long will it takes for me to receive my visa? I would like to know the time frame so I can plan ahead in buying my plane ticket while it's still cheap :P

hi, Congratulations! Actually, the time they gave me is 10 days to 1 month. Just passed yesterday and asked the 2go personnel on how much time to wait. He just told me that it all depends on how fast the US Embassy print our visa. Then they (2go) will deliver it 2-4 days after they have received it from US Embassy Nationwide. He told me...to just wait..."SURPRISE DAW". For now, you just need to ready your self, your things, and call a travel agencies for a cheap ticket. They do have promos that you can reserve for at least 2 weeks. You wont pay anything for that, bookings are for free but you have a deadline for 2 weeks I think. If it expires, just ask for another cheap promo and book again. B-)

I have been tracking 24 K1 people that had there interview December 1st or after.

Of these 24 people, 20 of them, including you now, have had their interview.

Of these 20 people that have had their interview, 12 of them have received their Visa's.

In calculating the number of days from their interview date to their Visa in hand date. I subtracted Sundays (assuming no deliveries on Sunday) and subtracted the days the Embassy was closed over the Holidays.

Counting it in that way, the range was between 5 - 14 days.

The average is currently 9.75 days from the interview date to delivery of the Visa.

LOL, this is how I spend my time waiting.

Haha I can't believe you did that! Unfortunately still no visa for me. I called up US EMBASSY and my visa was printed 1/4/2011, my interview was December 20! I suppose I will receive it next week. I suggest to be safe booking your trip for early February or late Jan :)

My Journey:

We met through a study-abroad program in Shanghai, China in August of 2009

We got engaged March of 2010

I received my K1 VISA in 6 months (June-December 2010)

We were married 04/02/2011
I received my conditional 2-year greencard (AOS) in 2.5 months with no interview (April-June 2011)

Our son was born 02/03/2013

I received my masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology 04/17/2013

I received my 10-year greencard (ROC) in 3 months with no interview (March-June 2013)

My husband returned from deployment 06/20/2013

My naturalization journey took 4 months (April-August 2014)

I became a US citizen on 08/01/2014

Received passport in 3 weeks (regular processing)

Thank you, VJ! smile.png

Thank you everyone for the infos :) especially to you Beth and Richard :) you two are heaven sent to me :D guess I'll have to follow it up first to St. Lukes and ask them if they already forward my stuff to the US embassy and from then I can start counting the days till I get my visa. I can't wait to fly and see my fiancee again :D

I record the farthest day out for the people I am tracking as an alert. If they go past that day, my stats will be off, but more importantly for me, I may miss my flight.

You will have passed the longest wait if your Visa arrives after January 11th. As long as people receive it by then, the high, low and average still remain about the same.

And I can breath easy.

So you better get it before the 11th are at least on the 11th.

Congratz krissyjoe!!! :star:

Your visa will be in your hand malapit na!

Don't buy a plane ticket until then.

ABSOLUTELY, Do not purchase a ticket until you have your Visa in hand. Due to a family situation in the US, I must get back there right away.

I am tracking the delivery times to ease my mind about the gamble I feel I had to take.

Unless you are some kind of stress junkie, I do not recommend taking this chance.
