Hey don't mess with me. American muscle cars may be inefficient gas guzzlers

but they are pretty damn powerful. And unless you have something like the

Mercedes CL550, you can bet your pumpkin butt my GTO will take your Merc.

That's D in the passenger seat as we were stuck on the side of the road in Metter, GA. My windshield wiper had flown off the car so we had to pull over, lol.

Ummm ok, I am not really a GM or Ford kind of gal, but if I had to choose I would pick the Pontiac. Even though none of those seem like real sports cars to me. I much prefer European cars...and when I think of sports cars Bugatti Veyron 16.4, Aston Martin DB9 coupe, Lamborghini V10, BMW M Roadster, Ferrari and Mercedes SLK 55 AMG (R171). But I think the Bugatti Veyron does take the cake when it comes to being the ultimate sports car. According to Car and Driver, the fuel economy when traveling at 253 mph in the Veyron was 3.0 mpg (78L/100km). MSRP: $1,200,000.... ye a real sports car!!!

ANY Mercedes-AMG will eat GTO for lunch and Mustangs for dinner hands down.

The new AMG line up has 2 engine options 6.3L V8 producing 510hp(the strongest Naturaly Aspirated V8 in the world) and 6.0L V12 Bi-Turbo producing 604HP (6th strongest production engine in the world)

The slowest AMG car will run 0 to 60 in under 5 seconds. V12 ones are sub 4 second beasts. all day 11 second (1/4mile) and traps 120+.

Corvette Z06 is the only true sport car America produces. But still lacks the build quality and luxuary the European cars offer. However its the fastest car for the money.

I still would take a Ferrari F430, a true masterpiece.

well, just some info about Dodge , Chrysler, Jeep. These car makers belongs to ChryslerBenz group and they share a lot of Mercedes parts. For example , Chrsler Crossfire was built on the old SLK chassis(R170) it shares the same 3.2L V6 supercharged engine(slightly detuned) same tranny, brakes and all.
