My wife who lived in Bornova back when we went through this process in 2006-2007 got her medical exam in Istanbul as they didn't have any place to do it in Izmir. She just did a day trip to Istanbul and got the sealed envelope and brought that with her to Ankara during her interview a week or two later.

Glad to offer some help. I remember vividly all the stress we went through at the time, but having others to talk at VJ going through the same thing definitely helped. We are almost done with our journey as we'll be filing for her citizenship in a couple of weeks.

My wife and I miss Izmir dearly. There's nothing like a great seafood dinner with some raki in Kordon.

Let me know if you need further assistance.

Hello Michele and Bahadir,

We are K1 filler and I live in Istanbul. So we are now waiting for package from US Embassy in Ankara.I am not a citizenship of Turkey. So the medical exam we better get 3 or 4 days before interview date, and you can do it in Izmir as well.Did you got package with instruction from the Embassy? They should tell to your Fiancée where he should get him medical exam.I attached for you two files I hope it will help, but still he should has instructions from the Embassy.

Good luck guys

I just now see your timeline you are still on the way to get your NOA2 heee so do not rush with medical it is easy to get it it will not take longer. For now you can prepare evidence of relationship, pictures, receipts, chat logs, call logs etc.

My husband is from Izmir and he decided to go to Istanbul for a day trip and also get his medical interview done. He spent the night with some friends and picked up the envelope the next morning. He did this about a month before his interview. I think that they can only go to the medical in Istanbul or Ankara (if my memory serves me correctly). I hope that this information helps. There are more specific instructions in packet 3, which you can find on the Ankara embassy website.

11/29/2010 Sent AOS package
12/10/2010 NOA1
01/07/2011 AOS transfer to CSC
01/11/2011 Biometrics
2/08/2011 AOS approved
2/22/2011 Green card in hand!
