Thanks for letting me know about that. I feel a little better today then I did last night when we got the letter about the interview, even though we haven't been able to do anything about it because it's Sunday. (Expect research online what we can do) What we plan to do is call the USCIS Customer Service number tomorrow. But we are also going to write to our local USCIS Office. And we would like to set up an infopass appointment as well. When we fly to Hawaii May 9, we actually have a layover in Portland, the city were our local USCIS office is, and we have a layover there for over 4 hours. We're going to see if we can set up an infopass appointment then. The only dates it shows right now for infopass when we try to make an appointment is April 26, 27, 28 but not anything in May. We're hoping in a day or two they will show some availabilities in May. But if we have to, we'll drive on one of those last days in April if it seems no dates will be opening up at all in May. It would just be so much nicer to be able to go to an infopass appointment during our layover since we'll be in the area anyways. But I know in life things can't always be convenient for you, but I'm willing to drive there if we have to. We'll see what happens. Tomorrow we call USCIS... But no matter what they say we are also going to write to our local office. I hope they will be able to reschedule, we have already paid $2942 into our honeymoon which is non-refundable. We both saved up for a long time to be able to afford this so I just hope USCIS will be reasonable and just reschedule our appointment. Even if we have to wait months for rescheduled interview date, that is fine with us.

My husband got his appointment letter in the mail today. We got lucky, and it is set for May 18th, the day before my daughter's graduation. We are nervous, but looking forward to getting his green card and being done with them for 21 months.

Ooook so today (1 month after my case was transferred to the CSC)I had the email saying my Greencard has been ordered to production (with no interview). It has been 2 years and almost 11 months since my husband and I are together 1 year and almost 3 months since we started with our visa journey, 8 months since my K1 was approved, almost 6 months since I moved to USA, 4 months since we got married and 3 months since we sent out the AOS package...After I receive the card no more immigration paperwork for 2 years...aaaah finally some of a normal life with the hubby.

My best wishes and prayers for a smooth process to all of the January filers who don't have the GC yet.

God bless!

I can't help but feel jealous of those of you who didn't have an AOS interview. I guess it's because our interview ended up being during our honeymoon. We called the 1-800 number for USCIS yesterday and she told us basically what the letter said, that it is very important to try to make it to the interview, but she did put in the request for us at our local office to reschedule the interview and the reason why we have to reschedule, but she told us it is up to them and they can't guarantee they will reschedule our interview. She told us we will be contacted about it within 30 days. But she did also tell us we can write to our local office about it, which I was planning to do before I even called. So we sent a letter off today with a copy of our interview letter and and proof of our flight tickets and hotels. In a few days we should be able to make an infopass appointment for May 9. And if they tell us at the infopass appointment that they absolutely can not reschedule our interview, we're just going to have to fly to Portland, Oregon from Hawaii in the middle of our honeymoon, go to the AOS interview, then fly back to Hawaii. We wouldn't like that though because that would cost around $1300 or more for both of us to fly to Oregon and and back to Hawaii, and we would miss out on two days of our honeymoon, two days and a night that is already paid for and non-refundable. I can't believe they make rescheduling an AOS interview so hard. Yes I know it's important, and believe me, if we could just get all our money back from the flights and hotels, I would just do that and postpone the honeymoon, but everything was bought before we got the interview notice in the mail and it cannot be refunded. I just really hope we hear from our local office before May 9. I'm can't stop thinking about this, I am worried. We have really been looking forward to our honeymoon, but we wanted to wait until my husband had an Oregon ID before flying...

Jay-Kay, I am happy your interview ended up being the day before your daughter's graduation.

And Seven and Reddstars, I am happy for you, I'm sorry I seem so negative. I'm just worried and not sure what to do. I just hope we hear back from our local office soon about this. I worry too much I guess. Even my husband says I worry too much about it. I can't help it.

Thank you. I can totally understand why you are worried. I am also jealous of those that do not have to go through an interview, but that is human nature. I am still happy for them though. I think everything will work out for us in the end, and perhaps having an AOS interview will mean no ROC interview when the time comes. I hope you hear good news from USCIS soon. I wish you guys the best of luck, and no matter what happens, enjoy your honeymoon time together! :)

and Congrats to those that just got their green cards!

Well I know the Portland office received our letter, I don't know if and when we'll hear back from them though... I really don't like it that can't call the local office... We just made an infopass appointment for May 9... We'll see what happens. *sigh*

Well a little update, we got a letter in the mail today from USCIS saying, that as we requested, our interview on May 17 was canceled. Although it did not say the new date of our interview, it said that any rescheduled interview information will be under a separate notice. We are still going to go to our infopass appointment on May 9 though to make sure our local office really knows that our interview was canceled. I read too many horror stories here on VJ to just trust that the local office knows about the canceled interview date. It is nice to finally to get some kind of notice about rescheduling though. I just wonder how long it will take to get a rescheduled interview date. But it's good to know we don't have to fly back to Oregon in the middle of our honeymoon.

Well that's good news! I can't imagine how much of a pain that must have been if you would've had to fly all over the place. Best of luck with whenever the interview actually is.

And congratulations to all those who received their GCs!

At least you heard something about it now. I hope you get it all clear and set to go at your infopass. Let us know how it goes.
