I try to keep track a bit. Not so interested in the medal standings, but I enjoy watching everything, even the figure skaters. Nice to see the under dogs come out of no where and win.

hehehe I shudder to think how many times i've clicked on nbcolympics.com for up to date standings hehe

I just like to keep track of how my fellow Canucks are doing. :)

Canada is doing well in the medal standings and there have ben many 4th place finishes, so all is good. We always seem to do well in the winter Olympics, and suck at the summer Olympics!!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

Ya Canada is doing great in respect to the medal standings and with some of those 4th place finishes it is looking promising of having a great olympics in 2010 ...

The Cdn men lost. Maybe they should have contacted the Womens hockey teram to learn how to score!! Oh well, they played hard, thats all one can ask. Got my t4 from DND, now can do the tax thing!! Hopefully I wont owe. On the bright side, how about our Cdn women Skaters, they rock!! Our Cdn mens curling team is off to the finals, but our Cdn women were not as fortunate, BUT still can come home with a bronze!!! Sure miss watching Sandra Schmirler curl!! World can be cruel at times!! i visited a curling rick just outside DC last yr. One would think on their brochure they would have an USA team on the cover, nope it was Sandra Schmirlers team, could almost cry!! Such a great lady. If your not aware of one of the greatest women curlers in the world, here is a link http://www.sandraschmirler.org/SANDRA.HTM

Cheers

It's like when JFK was shot and people remember that moment they heard..... I remember the day, the moment and exactly what I was doing when I heard Sandra passed. I bawled watching her furneral televised on CBC. Not only was she a great curler but she was truly an great person. I have been curling since I have been 8 years old and I truly grew up with her as my idol.

I would have liked to seen Klibrink in the Gold metal match - as Shannon lost to Schmirler in those Olympic trials...... I was there in Brandon watching front row of that final.

Huge curling fan here. I yell and cheer the way people do for hockey!

I saw the Canadian women beat the US early one morning last week. Great game. Saw the men beat the US last week. They weren't playing so well.

Agree so much that the European men's hockey teams have more to gain from the Olympics than our professional players. It's a shame.

Brad scoring 5 in the last end today was sweeeeeet to watch!

Sad to see that our hockey boys couldn't get into the medals, but for some reason I just kinda knew it wasn't going to happen this year. But they played hard, and that's all you can ask really.

And holy #######, 2 golds, 2 silvers today!!!!!!! Our women rule!!!

Ya its kinda disappointing that they couldn't even manage to get to the semi-finals to have a chance at a medal ... But only scoring 3 goals in the lats 4 games really isn't something to be proud of ... And those 3 goals were all in one game ...

I think the biggest problem with this years team is the fact that there are way too many goal scores and not enough setup men for those goal scores ... Guys like Iginla, Bertuzzi, Nash, Gagne, Heatly, Smyth, Thornton ect .... are the goal scores but they are missing the guys that feed them the puck ... Also as many have said, they sure did miss Neidermeyer and Jovanovski ...

At the beginning of the Olympics, I wasn't a supporter of some of the younger guys that people were saying should have been on the team but I maybe they needed some sparks from some guys like Spezza and Crosby ...

But in all fairness to Gretzky if they didn't get the gold he would have had to answer all these questions regardless if it was a silver, bronze or quarter final elimination like today ...

But 18 medals so far for Canada (most yet in a winter olympics) with an additional Gold or Silver coming from the Mens Curling and a possible bronze from the ladies Curling as well as a few more days of other competitions puts us in a good position ... Maybe we will hit the 20 mark ...

GO CANADA GO !!

Yep, the Cdn men required a few more diggers!!! Richards had a chance to tie the game yesterday in the dying moments! Goalie was down and he had the top half portion of the net to shoot at, what does he do? Attempts to pass it to heatley who is covered !! I think their confidence was pretty low. In the grand scheme of things, its not that big of a deal.

Was that at the Potomac Club... I know quite a few people that curl there... A real nice facility, but a little bit of a sticking point for our club on how it was financed...
