Hello,

USCIS is requesting a copy of a marriage termination for my wife who was never previously married. She's from Colombia. Any suggestions? Thanks!!

Why would they ask for a divorce document if she has not been married before. If it is a mistake you need to ring USCIS and find out what is happening.

Divorced !st November 2012.

Married only 2 years 1 month

Calling USCIS probably will do nothing. An info pass appointment will get you talking with a person.

I would have wife write out a sworn affidavit that she was never married before your marriage and child was born out of wedlock, and sign it in front of a notary public.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

Look over your copy of the paperwork- did you tick a wrong box somewhere indicating she was married? Does the child's birth cert indicate such?

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.
