Okay, Im confused now, my wife has her second interview at the consulate in Addis Ababa, (first visa attempt denied due to RFE), after overcoming an initial hurdle. Then today I received a letter from the U.S. embassy stating that they had mailed my wife the packet 3, and if they get it back quickly they will do everything possible to expedite my interview request(I requested one about 8 days ago). What is a packet 3, we did not have to do this the first time we went to the interview? Does it have to be in her native language and in english.

It contains a check list and forms that need to be filled out, some of it is sent back the rest is collected to bring to the interview. She needs to have her medical done by the civil surgeon and get police reports and fill out the paperwork. You also need to send her the affidavit of support papers plus evidence.

Its probably best if you look at the guides and instructions on VJ as well as her home country embassy as to what they need, hopefully she gets the packet soon and can work on getting the stuff done.

ya - a packet 3 for a K-3 mirrors (almost) the Packet 3 for a K-1 -

so - if you can get any OF-169 checklist on that country's embassy's web site - you'll have all info for 'what is in packet 3' .

Good Luck !

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.
