Hi guys!

I just received my GC and kinda confused because my name appearing on my GC is incomplete. For example Maria Mercedes is my first name but on the GC it only appears MARIA M.

Is it normal? Anyone here who had already received his/her GC and has case like mine...

Your inputs will be highly appreciated.. Happy New Year everyone!

They probably thought Mercedes was your middle name. There is only so much space on there. My wife doesnt have 2 first names, but her middle name is not spelled out. Hopefully someone with 2 first names will chime in to confirm though.

(you are replying to a very old topic,  you would do well to start a new topic with your questions.

To answer your question.

Did you enter your name on the forms correctly when applying?  If your name was correction on the form then USCIS made the mistake and you should contact USCIS to get your name corrected on your green card.

https://egov.uscis.gov/e-request/displayTypoForm.do

If you made the mistake and want it corrected you would have to pay for a replacement card.

You should have your FIRST name as it appears on your BC. So your GC should read Maria Mercedes [middle initial] Last Name. That is what is on my step children's GC and they have two first names. I just looked at each to answer this question.  The middle initial because there is not enough room for your full name to be spelled out but it is important to have your birth given first name appear correctly.

Follow Hank''s advice to get a corrected copy.  Good luck and return afterward and let us know the outcome. Others may have the same problem and can learn from your experience.
