So I had my interview earlier. It was long, around 30-40 minutes interview. I felt that the interview was going well until I saw the sticky note on the documents he was reading saying "Letter from the ex-husband"... I just then realized that my ex-husband contacted the immigration even before we finalized the divorce. The immigration officer asked random questions that concern our marriage and I answered with all the truth that I am aware of. He emphasized asking me about who initiated the divorce. And I answered BOTH since it was a mutual agreement between the two of us. We filed (and signed in front of the notary) the petition together and we met the judge together so for me it is a mutual decision. But he asked who filed it so I said him cause he was the one who looked for an individual to prepare our documents. After the interrogation (if I must say), he took my Permanent Resident CARD and gave me a instruction to have my passport stamped for 90 days extension while waiting for the decision. My question:

1. Is that really an immigration's SOP to get the applicants' (who have interview) Permanent Green Card I-551?

You were never a mistake. You were my realization.

I didnt understand your question, but if you are asking is it normal the immigration officer to take the GC after the interview, then it's normal.

I have read several times here on VJ the GC gets taken away at the interview.

Thanks Nimaan! And yes, they stamped my passport valid for another 90 days. I'd been searching here for any related case and seems like I cant find one..
