What financial documents are needed for the NVC stage? We're not there yet, but I'm thinking ahead and want to be prepared. This is what I have thus far:

Tax transcripts for the past three years

W-2's for the past three years

bank statements for 2010 (have most of 2009 also, but might have to order some)

Letter from employer (how current does that need to be? I might need a new one once we get to that point)

Is there anything else that I'll need? I want to make sure I have every single thing so we don't get an RFE. Does anyone know how soon after we file that we can get a transcript for 2010? Do we also need tax returns, or are transcripts sufficient? I know that my husband will need documents also, but right now I'm just concerned about the financial documents because I don't want to be scrambling around at the last minute trying to get them.

Thank you:)

That's fantastic, thank you! It looks like I have everything I need, minus the paystubs, but I can get those easily enough. Do you know how current the letter from the employer needs to be? I just got one for the RFE but not sure how recent it needs to be. quote name='canadian_wife' timestamp='1294086220' post='4383677']

Ok, I just need to get paystubs from my employer. What about bank statements, I don't see that unless I missed it on the link that was provided to me. Do we need to include them, and if yes, for how long? Thank you.

I used the I-864EZ form. I sent in my IRS tax transcripts for the most recent tax year with all schedules, all of my 2010 paystubs which were direct deposited, employment letter(Should be as current as possible, I was told by the NVC not more than six months old) Sending all tax transcripts for the last three years is recommended, not manditory. Only the recent tax year is required. It depends where your income falls. If right at or just below the min guidelines, it is strongly recommended to send the past three years.

Also, I get a small retirement check every month that came out of a divorce settlement. Can I include that as income? I have a letter from them that states how much I receive and that I will receive it monthly for the rest of my life. Should I get the paystubs to collaborate the letter? Unfortunately, I only have some of them so I'll need to order what I don't have.

I made that as simple as possible , if your W2 covers your required income , I don't think that's required to fill up optional assets

I sent them recent tax return transcript , employment letter with the I 864 ez version , didn't send them any paystubs but they approved my Affidavit of Support
