I had my biometrics done a few weeks ago and today I called USCIS to check on the status of my case. The USCIS rep says the case has been transferred to National Benefit Center. When I inquired about what that means, they couldn't give me a complete answer.

So can someone help me here, does anyone know what the National Benefit Center is and what happens next in this process?

I-485 was sent to chicago box office.

All cases go to NBC. Some AOS from K-1 will then get transferred from NBC to the California Service Center which usually means no interview. So now, you just wait it out, for either an interview notice or an approval. Good luck.

AOS for my husband
8/17/10: INTERVIEW DAY (day 123) APPROVED!!

ROC:
5/23/12: Sent out package
2/06/13: APPROVED!

Depends on how back logged your field office is.

For processing time of I-485 look at your field office. If you do not know which office is your field office, look it up by your zip code here:
