I am about to file the K-1, K-2 visa.

I am required to earn $22.500. I make plenty of money.

But, I am an independant contractor. So I write off everything possible.

By writing off everything. I have my taxable income below the required $22,500.

Do I need to re-file my taxes to increase my taxable income?

Thank You

I don't think that is necessary. If you give yourself a "paycheck", e.g. direct bi-weekly deposits as income, you can corroborate your income that way.

Suggest you submit at least one year of bank statements, along with your tax returns.

Of course, this is all necessary evidence at the Embassy stage.

Financial documentation from the petitioner may include but is not limited to employment letter for the petitioner with salary information and/or a copy of tax returns (Form 1040) for the last year, bank statement, W-2s. I-134 Affidavit of Support is not required but may be requested by a consular officer.

I guess the best thing to do is to contact the embassy and ask them for what kind of supporting documents they ask for.

I only offer advice - not even legal. Just the plain and simple kind.
