With all these so called "emergency" expedites not related to the typhoon, looks like everyone else who filed months before is getting kicked to the back of the line. What BS.

There was never a line. People who file three months later get approved 4 months earlier. It's always been this way, typhoon or not. And approvals started happening for the filers not related to the Philippines (like me) at the same time without any expedite requests. It's just most of the filers here seem to be from the Philippines, so it might look like they get more approvals.

Dunno. Honestly I am not in a huge hurry at this point (I know, right?). I have to settle some issues concerning the AoS, and it's probably better for me to file the AoS after filing this year's taxes, which would be mid- to late January.

I want to be done with it fast, but I might have to sit and wait to file I-864 anyway... So I probably won't start bugging them until a couple of weeks from now at least.

I was thinking about the same thing, we have transcripts from 2008-2012 but if we got the checklist say end of December, do we send them up to 2012 or do we wait till we file taxes around end of january and the transcripts for 2013? oh well.

Congratulations to your mother!

After 35 minutes on hold, I talked to a lady in the NVC and said that my mother's case is not on the system yet and told me that, it will take up to 8 weeks till the NVC has it on their system. I'll try again next week.

No news from NVC yet? Have you called them?

Hi, mine is not about the typhoon and it was submitted Oct 28th, it was slow expedite process. I think Cute_Patootie just recently approved, her expedite request was due of the typhoon. For sure you will hear good news soon.

I just got approved yesterday, and just this morning I received another notification saying they sent my mom's paperwork to NVC. Now I'm quite excited to see if filing expedite processing in relation with the typhoon will truly speed things up. We'll see.

Yes for sure it will speed up. I think you have to follow up with an expedite request to the NVC. I have a help from the senator's office and she said she will follow up in 2 weeks after the approval. Let's see.

I'm not sure, this was part of the email from the NBC forwarded to me by the senator's office

..."You will need to follow up with the NVC for further assistance. Please allow approximately 2 weeks for the NVC to receive this case.

I've read from few quite older posts back in 2010 here: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/142621-nvc-expedite-request/page-3 to wait until you get the NVC case number..

I think I will just then wait then place a call..

I have few really big reasons for expedite request.. 1. Emergency humanitarian reason r/t typhoon, then 2. complications from pregnancy which my OB had wrote a script already that I should be in bed rest until further evaluation. I hope I get to be approved too.

Is the name of the supervisor of NVC still Sue?

This is what I found in terms of writing to NVC

'Attn: PI Supervisor Sue - Case Number - Beneficiary name - DOB'

No news from NVC yet? Have you called them?

No, not yet here. I emailed them last week after I called, it took them more than a week to reply. The email said that they don't have my case yet and asked me to scan my Notice of Action, and email it to nvcresearch@state.gov. so they can find my petition on my behalf. I called again yesterday, and still not at the NVC. So, still waiting here.

To those who still waiting, be patience follow and read all the instructions before u submit all the documents.

Double check, ask if you don't know. Practise to fill up the forms, so that by the time to submit all the documents, theres no more mistakes.. U dont want the RFE.

While waiting to get approve, gathered all the civil documents. Check the spelling of each documents, to make

Yes, for sure they NVC will approve your case. You have valid reasons.

I really need my mom here but if they will not expedite it at NVC it's fine for me. I want my mother be here on March. Feb here in MN is still cold. So I can still wait another month. She might be shock in the weather here.

Just remembered that mine was actually in October. Since there was no way to have the fresh taxes yet, they asked for a fresh employment letter. If they weren't happy with the previous year's taxes in October, they most likely won't be in December.
