No, not yet She can file for her when she gets here. But not as a derivative. Your mom should file for her as soon as she gets here as a relative of an LPR =)

Not as a derivative. Your mom will have to file I-130 for your sister after she gets her green card. The wait now is about 2 years.

I have a 6-year-old brother that my mom can't bring, and my mom is his only family there. And he has a disability that requires special care. It's pretty frustrating. We don't know what we are going to do yet.

Hi Bryn&ellen, I am waiting a week after shipment of my file to NVC to start calling. See what this lady recommends. She is very good at explaining. She says after a week start calling 1-3 times a week and then everyday.

I filed I-130 for my mother on Feb. 18, 2013 and my case was transferred to Nebraska. Received an update through online that they are "Request for Evidence".. I have no idea what they are requesting for evidence for until I will receive the letter. Do anybody here has any idea what kind of Request for evidence petition filed for mother?.. Most times an RFE is sent because they're missing some information that is needed to process the petition.

Looks like you got everything. Don't stress too much until you know what it is. Also see if you can get your case expedited since your mom is in the Philippines. Edited November 21, 2013 by kerran

My family in the Philippines are okay. They are so far from the calamities happened in Visayas. I am not requesting to expedite it. I am just thankful they are okay. I guess I just need to wait for the letter to find out. I will let you guys know what is the RFE. Thanks a lot!

RFE may be for something you sent and they lost or damaged. Happened to me before, they asked for another copy of my marriage certificate.

Welcome blink, that might be the RFE your marriage certificate. The documents you provided in the beginning which is your proof of citizenship is in your married name right? if so, you needed to provide the evidence of the change thus you need your MC. Other than that, it looks like you are good =)

For approved applications/petitions, post-decision activity may include USCIS sending notification of the approved application/petition to the National Visa Center or the Department of State. For denied applications/petitions, post-decision activity may include the processing of an appeal and/or motions to reopen or reconsider and revocations.
