Quick update: Got a letter yesterday confirming the approval and that they sent my application to NVC.

That's great!!! Your timeline date in your signature for NVC is wrong. You have 02/13/13 instead of 11/13/13

My brother submitted these forms for his sons last week and they were done online and signed online. From what I read they sign and submit the form online then print it out and take it to the interview with them.

So they can't print the paper form and then sign it anymore? Sheesh... That's gonna be a problem for my mom. She can't use internet beyond Skype and doesn't own a printer and wouldn't be able to fill the form out all by herself anyway. I actually got her to sign paper forms, but I guess those won't work now? I was hoping those would be identical.

Unfortunatelty they don't take the paper forms anymore. He sent the paper form and they emailed him telling him he has to fill it out online.

My suggestion in regards to your mother would be to fill it out for her as the applicant and there's a part that you can put your name as the person who helped her to fill it out. Print it then mail it to her so she can take it to the interview.

My mother and MIL doesn't know how to use the computer either

There is a sort of "petition" going on that I read about in another discussion. US citizens complaining about the lengthy process etc...

They are planing mass emails on Tuesday 11-19.

For approved applications/petitions, post-decision activity may include USCIS sending notification of the approved application/petition to the National Visa Center or the Department of State. For denied applications/petitions, post-decision activity may include the processing of an appeal and/or motions to reopen or reconsider and revocations.

What's the difference between the Department of State and NVC??

I've read an article saying we can expedite our application due to typhoon Haiyan that devastated Philippines..so I call the USCIS to expedite my mom's paperwork from the grounds of "emergency humanitarian situation" R/T typhoon Haiyan. They told me to wait 5 days to hear from the officer handling my mom's paperwork.. and if I dont, maybe because its taking a little longer to process. So another waiting game for me.

I hope there's something positive to come out of this. Fingers crossed.
