And I have a question.

How early can be visa application form filled out and signed? Do we have to wait for NVC case number? The form is available online, but I suspect each one has its individual bar code, doesn't it?

The problem is, the application cannot (or rather, should not due to certain reasons) be mailed from where my mom lives. I could fill it out and email it to her to print out and sign, and she could send it back to me with a friend who will be coming back to the US in a few weeks (and also bringing me the rest of the documents for NVC). But if we have to wait for the case number andndon't have it by then, the window of opportunity will be missed.

Since the petition has not been approved yet, it is quite possible that might happen.

I guess the same question applies to Choice of Agent, but that form can be emailed as far as I know.

You can fill up all the form DS-230 and AOS form. but u can't submit it. u need to wait the NVC case # and the barcode

all my papers are ready together with the civil documents and AOS too..

The barcode is pasted on the form or is attached or something like that, then, and the form can be obtained online?

I'm not worried about submitting it yet. I just need it to get back to me ready to go at the only opportunity I will have.

the barcode is separate paper's with the CASE #

but the ds-230 and AOS u can fill up that one.. use the new form . go to the uscise website u can find the form there..

hello

all of my friends.

i read all the posts you guys post.

i also want to prepare all the paper ready before i got my NOA2. (hopefully i can get it this month).

so i look for Ds230 . and i found it on travel.state.gov

not sure it is right or not? i cant find it on uscis.gov

AOS means I485 or I864.

if i ask stupid question, please let me know.

i am really confused.

AOS is I-864.

You can't find DS230 on the USCIS website, because it has nothing to do with USCIS. USCIS does not handle visas. It's Department of State, travel.state.gov.

April 19, 2013 - Submit l-130 to uscis
April 22, 2013 - NOA1
July 29, 2013 - APPROVED NOA2
July 30, 2013 - Shipped @ NVC
Aug 5, 2013 - Arrived @ NVC
Aug 13, 2013 - Got my NVC case # via PHONE
Aug 14,2013 - Got my INVOICE # via PHONE

Aug 15,2013 - Submit the CHOICE OF AGENT via EMAIL

Aug 16, 2013 - 88$ Invoice available - Done paying

Im really getting inpatient for my mom's paperwork. I really want her to come soon and be with me through out the pregnancy.... I wish they would process February filers now!. ugh!

I see you did change of address too. Do you think that can slow the process down? I thought maybe if the case got transfereed to a local office and then to a different local office... I don't think they inform the petitioner if the case leaves NBC and goes to a local office, do they?

I don't think it should. But you'll never know. From my past experience related to I-130 process, I changed address too the last time

but it didn't really prolong the process. Im just wondering why others who are even later than we filed, got approved already.

My previous three I-130s were approved in three months (2005, 2009, 2009). This is the first time I'm waiting so long. All the more annoying since my mom's situation is more urgent than mine or my kids' was... The kids were already here, so it did not matter all that much.

I know. Mine got approved fairly quick too.

Oh well, this is something that we dont have control over but wait. Im just going prepare her other packets so its good to go when her paperwork gets approved.

Our application is a little bit more than 6 months now, I called and the person said that they can't do much about it, it's still processing right now, and we just have to wait. That's it.
