Use pencil.

Write benficiary's name, NVC Case number, Beneficiary's date of birth.

Do not staple. Clip them with paper clip on the DS-230 form..or... put them in a plastic bag and staple the plastic bag in the ds-230 form, as some do. I'm not sure if the latter is really the best idea but I've read that somwehre. Bottom line, do not staple the pictures.

I agree that you should not staple the pictures. I think putting them in a small plastic and stapling the plastic in the DS-230 form is better. That way it is more secure and won't go anywhere. I placed mine in a small plastic and clipped them instead of stapling together with the forms and NVC told me they cannot find my mother's. It was probably left inside the USPS envelope when they took it out or simply fell off from the forms. I requested for a Supervisor to re-check my file if it was there. It annoys me that it will take additional 15 days for them to do that.

For the mean time, I asked my mom to send another set of pictures from the Philippines and I will send them to NVC as soon as I will have them just in case NVC cannot find it or it will take longer for them to look for it.

I need some advice for a couple of items:

1. My i-864 that was submitted to NVC was signed 05/24/11. Accepted 06/14/11. I was getting ready to send the I-864 to my mom when I noticed I missed copying my employment verification as of 05/14/11. I went back online and tried to print the same thing, but my employment verification is now as of 06/11/11. So I print that off and redo the whole I-864 and sent it to my mom. The annual income together with I-864A is now 2K higher because of a bonus made by my hubby.

Are you seeing trouble?

2. I just accepted a new job offer and I will start next week, July 18th. Do I need to redo the I-864 for my mom?? (again?)

Update: Sign-In Failed today! No RFE even with blue background of my mom's 2x2 picture. They may still change their mind but I hope not.

About your question. I do not think the employee letter should be a problem. About your new job, I would prepare a new I 864 and new proof of employment to send to your Mom. I would tell her not to make any comments at least they ask for. Maybe somebody else will give you another advice.

Did the AVR change before SIF???? Mine still says waiting for DS-230, which I sent 4 days after yours.

Yes the AVR has changed to case complete in less than an hour after SIF. I also get to talk to a live person and she confirmed it. She also mentioned calling late next week for the appointment date.

I will take your advice. I will prepare a new I-864 and will send her the old and new I-864 and would tell her to give the "old".. unless scrutinized and the consul demands for the new one.

Now, I have another question for my friend.??? Her case is for 2 parents and sometimes I get confused (Mine is just for one). She is filing her I-864.

• In 23. Current income she must write what ever she will be making this year before taxes?
• In 24b. She is going to writ her husband' income before taxes. He is receiving Social Security Disability.
• She has to check 24d. She is using his income to qualify. He aslo has to file a I-864A
• In 25. SHe has to write the AGI from the Tax return.? They filed together so it shows both incomes.

Now like I said , he is currently on disability. He gets some money from SSA. They requested a Proof of Income Letter from SSA. In I-864A.

• In 9. I am currently: ___________ I do not know what he should write? He is not working. I suggested to her to write unemployed since and write a letter explaining his income.
• In 10. It is his income from SSA before taxes?
• In 11. It should be the same amount that AGI from the 1040 in the tax return. Both incomes shows there?

Thank you for any help. Mine was easy, I just used my income, which was enough, and he is not working right now.

The 23-24 is correct.

#25 should be HER total income per year. Look on W2.

#9 on I-864A should be "unemployed". I think. Unless he's one of those who is under disability but employment is still secure.

Congrats R&W for case closed.

Checklists sucks. They cause more delays to your case. I am still waiting for them to evaluate the birth and marriage certificates I sent in response to the DS-230 checklist. And they have not yet re-checked the file if my mom's pictures are really in her file. I am sending another set today just to make sure. I think it is a habit for NVC people to be losing stuff.

My case was complete yesterday per AVR. I called and talked to an operator and she said now we just have to wait for an interview date. They scheduled the interviews every second week of the month for the next month. I may have a chance for an August interview, latest September. Yeah !!!!! my mom could be here when the baby is born. :dance: :dance:

I was able to schedule in advance for my parents interview using Philippine Embassy's Online Scheduling System even if their cases hasn't been closed. The earliest available date is Aug 8, 2011 and I took it. It is a long shot since I really don't know when our cases will be closed. I hope it will be before this date and all the documents have already been forwarded to the Philippine Embassy. If not, I can always re-schedule online.

Do you know anybody here scheduling themselves online or over the phone ahead of NVC?

We did it at least a week before submitting the I-864. That way HR will have enough time to make it. I ended up not submitting it because my wife's income in the 2010 ITR was more than enough to sponsor my parents.
