UPDATE - My wifes parents got the visas Tuesday. The interview was on Friday the 19th so this was very fast. If you take out Sat and Sun with the embassy closed it was just 3 days (Manila Time).

Now we dont have to worry because we had already purchased plane tickets for Nov 5th.

That was indeed fast! Congrats!

To Likuliku,

I happened to call the NVC the same day before I received the email.

On the phone I was told my case would be passed to the consulate that day. The agent told me to contact the consulate about the interview date when I asked about it.

Then a few hours later, I got the email saying the NVC had completed its processing of XXX's petition and the interview date is also mentioned in the email.

Thanks for your message. Unfortunately they didn't get the interview done thanks some a mixup by the security people at the embassy. My parents and a few others were sent to the wrong line (visitor visa interviews) and ended up not being able interview. Now they have to reschedule.

This is really disappointing, they have sent the email to the embassy to reschedule. Does anyone know how long a reschedule takes and how soon? Will it be another 2 months before they can interview. Really changes holiday plans.

Hello there everyone, I sponsored my mother. Unfortunately, I made a mistake in one of the questions while completing the the DS-260. I went to the interview with my mom, her interview was yesterday 10/30/2012. she has came to the USA to visit me several times. I realized that she will be nervous answering all those questions and I was right. Due to the mistaken answer, we were told to correct the application online and go back on the 9th. I felt that the reviewer could have changed the answer there since we were there already, but I guess she gave us a chance to go back. Mom had all her paperwork checked and finger printed. She was told that she will have the oath with the consul on the 9th. She/we received a yellow sheet with a mark box where we need to correct the mistaken answer. Answer has been corrected and submitted online again. So we are hoping that the whole thing will end next week. I was planning to travel with her, but it seems that she might have to travel to the USA alone since I have to go back to work soon after her next interview. I thought that i want to share our story with you guys.

Well, the document intake portion of the process has been completed. So far, so good. Tomorrow morning they go back for the main event. I should have an answer by tonight USA time.

I'm sorry to hear that. Rescheduling depends on the Embassy. In US Embassy Manila, rescheduling takes only a few days. Well, let us know how it goes.

I'm so sorry. I know it's really disappointing when you already have travel plans and things don't go well as planned. Hopefully, you can get a direct flight for her if it does exist so that you wouldn't have to worry about her traveling alone on the way to US.

They passed!

It was a pretty basic interview. I think they decide most of these things based on the documents they receive the day before. They were only asked a few questions.

Why do you want to go the USA?

How many children do you have?

How many are in the USA?

What will you do there?

What do your daughter and son-in-law do?

That was about it. Pretty easy. They'll get the visa in a few days. They may not come here for a while though. They still have business in China to take care of.

so after 6months uscis said they send mail with a denial notice for my dad. what could i have done wrong. i know his name is not on my birth cert. but people had said not to worry about it they will ask for a dna test. that's the way my money goes.
