I made my mom's fee the day before POE and she got it a month after getting here so I think it's gonna be about a month or so.

I paid the fee on July 18. My mom entered on August 26. The GC arrived on September 28. So yes, about a month sounds right.

called nvc last week and they said acceptance date is sept 29. i was surprised i got an email today from them with my NVC case number. i havent call them yet about this! thanks be to God.

im confused. what is aos package? when to send it? what is it? i cant find it anywhere. everybody says they sent the aos package but doesnt specify whats in that package.

AOS is the Affidavit Of Support also know as the I-864 form. Because you have to send supporting docs with this form, it's being called a package here. You will send it after you receive a bill (invoice) to pay it online, and you will print out the cover sheet for the package that will contain a barcode.

The cover letter gives you the instructions on where to go to get the form , along with where to mail it. The requirements differ depending on your financial situation. If you go to the NVC October 2014 filers forum the first post contains a link to the NVC wiki written by Saylin ... It really helps to break it all down ;-)

I have a question. Today I received an email stating that my DS-261(choose agent) was accepted. Then I log in and saw that IV fee($325) was available to pay, so I did. Now it shows PROCESSING. I would like to get the DS-260 done soon. So when does it become available?

I am really trying to finish up this process quickly. I would like to have my mom here for Christmas. Have not spend christmas with her for over 14 years. I always visit during cheaper flying seasons. Do you think this process will be done before then?

Unfortunately it doesn't seem likely Claudis927 NVC is currently sending out notices to allow up to 60 days to review each part we submit. I believe the DS-260 becomes available within a week of paying the IV fee. IF you have already submitted IV package then the DS-260 submission date would be your "last scan date" then counting 60 days from then would be your case complete....only after that do they schedule interview ...But you could always try applying for a expedite on your case ...however those don't get approved very often..

Well, after a rather long process, we got the emails today that NVC has finally finished the pre-processing for my parents and their files were being sent to the embassy in Trinidad. Their interview has been set for November 12.

Now, according to the local instructions, my parents have to go online, and create an account to sign up for the courier service for their passports. Unfortunately, they are not in the system and their appointment isn't showing up. I'm guessing that it's simply too soon to do this but my question is, for those of you who had to do this, how long from getting that email from NVC do you have to wait in order to be able to create an account with the local embassy. Or.. how long does it take for the embassy to receive the file?
