Hi Everyone. After the approval that we got from USCIS, what should we expect next?

  1. Do we wait for something? Until when should we wait?
  2. Do we need to call anybody? Who, When should we call?
  3. Documents we need to prepare?
  4. Anything about next steps after the USCIS approval.

Salamat (Thanks) in advance!

You'll have to wait until NVC emails you about the instructions to pay the AOS fee.

With mine, I had to wait about a month. I called and got the case number and IV number but unless you get their email, you won't be able to access https://ceac.state.gov/ceac/ ....

Then as soon as you get it, access the link and pay the AOS fee... then when it shows it is paid... you can send your AOS documents...

I am on that stage now... I sent mine a week ago and still waiting.. I heard NVC said 60 days time frame for AOS documents processing alone... so it's a waiting game still...

Hoping I won't get any checklist... good luck on yours...

Hi,

Thanks for your reply. Pardon me for some clarifications:

  1. email advise to pay AOS fee -- I think we failed to include the form on email notificaiton when my son sent the i130. Should my son expect a letter from NVC mailed instead providing the instruction to pay the AOS fee in the absence of the form on email notification? is there still a way for us to register an email for the notification so we can get the communications through email?
  2. Is it right to say, wait about a month before calling for the case number and IV number?
  3. Send AOS documents to NVC? Do I need to have a copy of the AOS too?
    1. My son is the one who will be preparing the AOS and I just saw from the others sharing experiences that the AOS is needed during the interview..

Salamat! (Thanks!)

Something FYI.

Dunno if it's just the Moscow Consulate, but I found out yesterday (while getting i-130 papers ready for my brother) that my mom's immigrant visa was expiring on September 18. It was issued on June 6. Something must have changed and these visas are not valid for 6 months anymore. Or they specifically wanted my mom to miss her window... My mom does not know any English, so she never even read what the visa said. She got here on September 26. Had we waited another couple of weeks, thinking we had time, she could have been turned around.

So ask your parents to pay attention just in case.
