Hi everyone ,

I have a simple question concerning remaining fees. The only thing I paid is $88 for AOS.

Could anyone tell me what is left to be paid?

I want my father to pay it the embassy with local equivalent money in Algeria.

So what are the fees?

IV fee?

DS260 fee?

Green card fees?

A breakdown would be appreciated, because the embassy's website is confusing/not updated.

The IV fees and the DS260 fees are one and the same ($230). I am not sure what the process is for paying fees at the USEM in your country, most of us go ahead and pay fees here on the CEAC website and have civil docs reviewed by NVC. The Green card fee is paid after visa has been granted.

Congratulations!!!!...

Okay, Girls I called NVC and finally got through. I am going to give answers to my questions so that you guys can benefit from my answers.

1. Letter of Employment-My husband addressed to USCIS - NVC lady said it is okay, but in general you should put " Whom it may concern" , they will accept my husband's letter.. also if you send pay subs you do not need letter I am sending both...

2. Marriage certificate- my marriage certificate- real copy or certified-and real copy of my birth certificate (i will send it with AOS package)

3. I also asked about my IV bill not showing she said it takes 30 days to process DS-261( well might be my case, so I can not speak for every one) wedakA said the same thing earlier

remember if you are sponsoring both parents: I-864 mother, I-864-father, if you have to file jointly I-864A mother, I-864A father...In any of these form you do not put both of your parents no matter if you see plural forms of immigrants on the form.. example I-864A Mother- part 2. Sponsor's promise you put if are filing for your mother then you put your mother's name...not your mother and Father only your mother's name...

You would have to pay a fee for medical exam , too. Not sure if the price is the same or different for each country, but for Ukraine I paid $215/person. The green card fee I believe is $165, but I might be mistaken

Hi Karen, I received an email from NVC stating that my parents cases are under review for expeditious visa processing. How long did it take for you to hear anything from them?

It took about 3 biz days to and about a week to get it to the embassy. It was pretty quick altogether. The embassy however took longer than expected.

I just completed DS-260 for my dad, how long does it take to see the IV-fee online ?

Any ideas based on your experiences ?

It took about 3 biz days to and about a week to get it to the embassy. It was pretty quick altogether. The embassy however took longer than expected.

Thank you Karen for always reply my posts. You are the best. I have one question that you and others could help me to figure it out. When you filled out I-864 and I-864A, did you guys leave the none applicable are blank or write in n/a? I saw that some people get a check list because they didn't put n/a. Thank you for your help!

Finally its done. Its over. Thank God. The visas were issued today. Now just waiting for American Express to call my parents so they can go and pickup their passports. It is just a huge relief.

Step by Step Fees:

1. AOS Fee- $88

2. IV Fees or DS-260 Fees - $230

3. Medical Exam fees - Depend on the country of beneficiary. It cost under $100 in my home country. This fees is collected directly by the hospital.

4. USCIS Immigrant Fee or Green Card Fee or Permanent Resident Fee - $165 (this fee is collected by the USCIS. This fees must be paid in full prior entring the US. You will not have access to pay this fees until your Beneficiary gets a Visa)

All above mentiond fees could be paid directly to the NVC and USCIS by either the Applicant or Beneficiary except Medical Exam fees. Medical Exam fees could be easily paid by the Beneficiary in lcoal currency as the hospitals are local. Things will be lot easy, if Applicant pay NVC fees (1, and 2) here in the US using CEAC website and USCIS fees (4) using www.uscis.gov/uscis-elis website.

This is exactly what I was looking for , thank you.

My father wanted to pay as much fees as possible in local money. I paid the $88 AOS fee online.

For the medical , we already found out the fee which as you mentioned around $100 in local currency.

He has an appointment at the embassy in two weeks, so he will be able to pay the equivalent of $230 in local money.

However he wont be able to pay the $165 in local currency. That would be fine

Last question, I submitted the DS260 4 days ago, how long before I can see the $230 fee online? just in case I ( the petitioner) elect to pay it online.

I wonder if the issue is related to the fact, my case got transferred to be processed locally at the embassy therefore the fee/invoice won't be online
