Update... Called today and was given bla bla bla 30 day thing again... So I requested to talk to the supervisor who was very nice and promised to take care of the issue. Hopefully I'll be able to pay IV fee next week!!!!!

Hi im new here.I hope someone can guide me through this process.I filed for both my parents.I called NVC today and i now have case number and invoice number for my mom but not my dad's.Unfortunately, they did not receive the approved pettion at the same time.They received my mom's last May 30 and my dad's June 3. I am going to wait till i get my dad's case number before i proceed so their application will be processed together. What should i do next? How can I access theDs-261? Should i wait for the letter from NVC?I am clueless?

Hi guys today I call NVC and ask if they have set up an appointment for my parents but the lady said they are done with interviews for July and that I have to wait until the first and second week of july to get an appointment for august!!!! Have any of u been in this situation??? Can I expedite my parents interview???

It may take up to 30 days for NVC to receive and enter the cases in their system. I'd say call back 2 weeks after the date it left NVC.

Thank you Kerran. I noticed that you asked NVC expedite your case. I'm planning to expedite my petitions for medical reasons. When do you recommend me to send them an email? Should I do so after I receive the case numbers? Thank you for your help!

You get an email in about a week from when the case actually gets completed. The only way you can find out is by calling NVC .... and I mean calling everyday to see if the case has been completed.

After that it all depends on your embassy's availability. Sometimes people get appointment letter the same day the case gets completed and sometimes they have to wait for 1-2 weeks. In my case it was about week and a half.

one question if u can guess I call NVC on june 12th 2014 and they said my case was completed that day and on june 19th a received the letter that my case was completed when do u think I will get the email with my appointment? ??

Check out the following link. Click on Case Complete to Interview Spreadsheet. This will give you an idea as to how long it could take. See if Peru is on the list. I am thinking you should hear something about the date of interview by the end of this month. Within this month I mean.

You're welcome!

As soon as you get the case and invoice number send them the email requesting the expedite service because that information has to be included in the request. And it has to be written by a physician.

I had called regarding another matter and was told the case was complete. All details are in my signature/timeline for interview etc.

Hi guys, thank you so much for answering my questions. I'm filling out I-864 and I864A for my parents. I read on this forum that you should put N/A next to the blank field. Otherwise, you will get a checklist but I read the I-864 instruction and they recommneded not to do so. What do you guys recommend me to do? Thank you so much!
