I am beyond ecstatic!!! My dad passed his interview !!!

His interview was at 9:30am, so he got to the embassy at 9:00am. He first passed through security and then led to a window where a man asked him for his passport. The first question the man asked was "So, your son is petitioning you?" I had warned my dad that he might get a trick question, so immediately he said "No, my daughter is petitioning me". He then, asked what my name was and where he currently lives and then told him to sit down and wait for his interview.

One hour later, they called him and he went to another window where a lady asked him the following questions:

1. What is your petitioners name?

2. When was the last time you saw her?

3. Oh, she was born in Venezuela, did you spend significant time there? The answer was yes.

The only papers he needed was the passport, medical exam, pictures, letter of appointment, and letter of consulate appointment.

She then said, ok, go to this link and get the police certificate from Venezuela and email it to me. I will take your passport and you will get your visa in two weeks. You will not have to come to this office again. You are approved!

And that just MADE MY DAY!

Congratulations!!!! I'm so happy for you.

I'm also happy cause I called NVC today and they told me that today they closed my case!!! Waiting for the interview.

June.05.2014 - Case number, and Invoice ID received by calling NVC

June.06.2014 - Submit DS-261 using CEAC Website

June.09.2014 - AoS Fee link open, Submit the fee

Waiting for the IV fee link, and application to open. Any suggestion, how long it would take?

Holding to send AoS documents. Planning to send them along with IV docs. Is it fine?

Do NVC need PCC in order to issue Visa Interview? Issuance of PCC in my home country took one month or more.

It may take about 3 days for the link to be available. PCC if that's the police certificate then yes NVC will need that to issue a visa. It is a required document.

I suggest you work on it ASAP and expedite it if you can.

odd!! I call NVC and they said they receive package on June 6th. I never sent anything since I first had a checklist in May.. They cannot see what it is since it's just in the system. Maybe some can help guessing

It took my mom almost two months to get her amended police certificate... No emaling involved, all by hand, by train, and by regular mail.

I have a question everyone!!

I am getting ready to schedule my mom's medical appointment. How do we obtain the medical form??? Is this something that will be sent to us or do we download it??

Read carefully the instructions provided in the link below:

From the above link, follow step 1 and 2. After you get a PDF (based on your mom's country of residence), see which designated medical facility is close to her residence. Call them and set an appointment. Ask them what documents to bring. Most probably they need following docs:

1. Copy of Visa Interview Letter

2. Copy of Biographic info. pages of the passport

3. List of any medication

4. Two to Three US Passport size pictures.

Above requirement may vary depend on the country of the residence.

It may take about 3 days for the link to be available. PCC if that's the police certificate then yes NVC will need that to issue a visa. It is a required document.

I suggest you work on it ASAP and expedite it if you can.

Thank you!! Police Clarence Certificate (PCC) in my home country is only available through the Passport Offices. They require a Checklist from the NVC to approve the application for PCC. After that it took around 4 to 5 weeks to get PCC. Unfortunately, I have to wait to get a documents checklist from the NVC. I have heard that DS-260 confirmation page would work in lieu of the Checklist. Thanks!

Hello everyone! Just an update. My mom passed her interview last June 11 at the Manila US Embassy.

Here are some questions the consul asked her:

-what is your relationship to the petitioner?

-how and when did she(me) come to the US?

-what is the job of your son-in-law (my husband)?

-when was the last time you saw each other?

-then she asked for a couple of our family pictures.

That's it. They didn't ask her for anything else. She passed! I also checked her visa status at CEAC and it shows "ISSUED". Her visa is authorized for printing. Hopefully we'll get it next week.

I do not have a complete timeline on my processing but my mother just passed her interview today at Mumbai (India) Embassy. The interview process went very smoothly and she was only asked two questions:

1. what does your daughter do?

2. what did she (me - the daughter) look like as a child?

That's it. They said she passed her interview and will get her visa in mail within a week. Although I was not active on here, I followed this topic daily and so thank you to everyone who contributed and answered my questions before I even asked.
