Hello Everyone,

My father's case has taken longer than I thought! Unfortunately, my father spent a year in Austria when he was in undergrad so NVC requested a police certificate from Austria as well. After contacting many offices and translating the document, my dad has his interview this coming June 13!! Soo excited! So, question: When we filed, we only included 2013 federal tax forms since it was before the usual filing date. Now that he goes for interview, I read that he has to take the most updated tax forms. Just to make it clear, he has to take the 2014 forms, correct?

Yes this must be made before entry to US. Or atleast thats what the website says. So either the applicant or the beneficiary can pay online.

So, I am giving my dad my last updated Tax return package for 2014 in case he needs to have that for his interview. Does anyone know about this? Also, is it possible for me to send my package scanned to him so he can take a copy, or does he need to the originals?

Copy is good. There is no originals. IF you filed online then it is trasmitted electronically and if you filed by m,ail the priginal was already submitted. All you can do is show a copy of the filed return. That is what I am going to do also.

For their interview I am sending a package with pretty much all the dopcuments or theior copies already submitted here just incase if the office wants to see something. Just to be on the safe side. Although you are not required to or they shouldnt be asking your parents for any of the documents already submitted here but its better to be safe then not having something on the spot. So once I get the interview date, I am going to send a package of all the documents or copies.

I have scanned and emailed a copy of every document I have sent to NVC to my sister to print out for my mom to take to her interview when the time comes. I have sent original documents to NVC so I am pretty sure they are not expecting originals at the interview but I do want to make sure that my mom has all the information just in case she is asked for anything on her interview.

Question for you guys .. the petitions for my parents are finally at NVC and we are just about to file the AOS forms. And though I've done tons of these forms for me, of course, I'm doubting myself.

I will submit all the forms in one envelope.

There will be one cover letter from me to detail everything that's being included.

I know I have to submit the two (2) electronically generated Document Cover Sheets (one for each parent).

I will submit two (2) I-864 forms (one for each parent).

Do I need an I-864A for each parent or will one cover both parents?

Do I need to print the tax transcripts out over and over again for each of the I-864 and I-864A forms? Or will one copy suffice for the package?

Am I missing anything else?

Editing my last post to add:

I'm seeing in the main forum that people are saying that my husband needs to fill out an I-864 AND and I-864A. To be clear, I do not meet the income requirements alone, so we are filing on the strength of his income.

So now I really am confused.

You need to fill out the I-864 and your husband fill out the I-864 regardless if you are working or not (that is if you are the petitioner).

My case was the same as yours where I wasn't working and my husband is so I'm talking from experience.

You're welcome! You don't need to fill out the I-864A, only your husband does.
