Hi everyone, im glad i found this thread,.. Anyway i send my mom's I130 last april 29, and today i checked in uscis case status, It is in Post decision activity, that on May 19 they mail a notice that we approve this petition! OMG, i feel so lucky to get approve this fast, considering last year when im processing my sons petition it take 7 months to approve and it takes 3 plus months for the case to be transferred at NVC!

I have a question, my mom is a widow, does she still need to submit marriage certificate? Or Death certificate?

Aside from, Birth certificate, NBI, copy of biographic page, visa photos, what else mom need to submit during NVC stage,

Thank you soooo much!

My mom is a widow and I only sent the death cert. of my dad. So far so good. Waiting for the NVC to complete the case.

We have just paid AOS and parents will have to do consular processing. Case number begins with MOS, so, from what I read, we have to submit paper documents. Does anyone know if this means we will have to have our parents send their original documents to the USA (New Hampshire address) for processing? It's a bit scary to mail such sensitive documents overseas.

MOS stands for Moscow. You can look at the NVC page, but mostly they do require original documents or certified copies (not just a printed copy and notarized by a random notary) . My parent sent me all their stuff by UPS. $70 but I got it in 3 days

My mom just got approved for her IR-5 visa at the London embassy!!!! :dancing:

Some quick questions... She is having her passport couried to her apartment via DX... Do they send the original documents back to her in the same package? The gentlemen did not really explain what the next step is.. she got her chest xray back and he said hold on to this. She plans to come over the USA on June 8th via Chicago O'Hare... What can she expect to do at Customs coming into the country and what does she need to bring with her for documentation apart from her Passport with visa? Thank you very much!!!

They just ask couple of quick questions and send them the visa in mail within a week. Really hoping to to hear something like this soon. Offcourse I will be getting theor tickets for JFK New York.

Hi,

I've heard you say "entered in their system" at different times and i keep wondering. Does it show on the ceac website when it's entered? what do you see there?. mine documents were received on 5/9/2014 as well but nothing is showing on the system except ...AOS PAID. IV PAID. DS 260 COMPLETED. pls verify.

Quyana,

Over the past week or two is the first time I have seen that feature on the CEAC website where it shows document status as "NA". I do not know at what point they update the CEAC website with any information regarding the documents. However, I know that once the customer service people can confirm that your documents were received it is because it has already been entered in the system, just not yet reviewed.

Honestly it seem like forever, this last stage of waiting for Document review is taking too long. I don't even know what else to do but to wait. Calling them makes no sense as the response remain "Wait for 30 days". So one need overdose of patience.

Sure thing...

My mom's interview was scheduled for 8:30am... we arrived at 7:30am to try and get in early... but ended up getting through security by 8:25. We got checked in by using the interview letter and they took a look at my mom's passport. I had to get added to the list to be able to get in because I did not in advance since I didn't know. Make sure you check to see if your name is on the interview letter, and if it's not, just call the embassy and ask to get added... took 5 minutes. They gave us a number and we were called within two minutes of sitting down to go see the first employee. He was a nice man and he was strictly going over all the documents the NVC sent over and made sure everything was in order. He gave me back my birth certificate and marriage license, but kept everything else and asked for a name change deed since my mother had changed her name after her divorce. Took around 15 minutes to go through documentation, my mom got her fingerprints digitally taken, and then was told to sit down and wait for the next guy to call her up for the interview portion. It took roughly 30 minutes to be called up again (I think they only have one person doing IR-5 interviews) and I was allowed to be present during the interview but the questions were all addressed to my mother. Some of the questions:

Where does your petitioner work/live?

How many siblings does he/she have?

Why did you change your name?

When do you plan on coming over to the USA?

Took roughly ten minutes to interview and they he notified us that she has been approved. We were told we have six months to enter the USA from when the chest xray was taken and then we went outside the Embassy and went over to the other side to were the US Citizens go to sign up the DX courier. It cost $8 and my mom received her passport and the big brown enevelope that cannot be opened till you reach your Port of Entry. All in all, very smooth and easy. Just make sure to bring an umbrella if there is any rain as the line you wait in has no cover. If you have any other questions, let me know.
