Hi just wanted to ask how u guys arranged the aos package for ur parents.. Esp if ur going to bring them both Im realy confused on how to arrange it does it have to be in separated envelope along with I-864 and the supporting documents???does it have to be two sets of aos for both of them??

I had to separate my parents' documents because they were approved in different dates, so they were not processed at the same time. I suggest that you have each package for each parent, then ship the two packages in one. But I don't think you will have a problem sending two packages instead, because my parents ended up with case complete at the same time even though my mom's case was processed few weeks before my dad's.

I don't know if this is the right place to ask this...however, my MIL's I-130 has a receipt date of May 14, 2013. It was transferred in December 2013. We made an inquiry and were told basically it was still being processed and they had no time frame to when it would be done. Called senator's office, they got a reply she is in background checks with multiple agencies and said we can check back in 60 days if we haven't heard anything.

I have two questions and I am sure I already know the answer, but never know unless you ask...

1. Is it unusal for a parent to be placed in background checks? She has been here 4 times previously with a visitor's visa and had no problems...no background checks, no overstays...nothing. We are as vanilla as you come.

2. Is there any way in heck to get this expedited? Our son will be 2 in May and she has never seen him (it is impossible for us to afford to take everyone there, it would be $5000 in airfare alone). She is crying all the time and her health is being affected tremendously (like I am sure it is for most everyone separated from their families).

Don't know about #1. Who knows what they have in mind.

#2 doesn't bother them. My mom haven't seen her older grandkids in over 8 years, and the youngest one in 6 years and he doesn't even remember her. I have never met my younger brother. My husband saw my side of the family last (and only) time in 2004 for a week. That said, my mom was denied a visitors visa last year. Heartbreak is not reason enough to expedite. You need real danger to life. Unfortunately, now my family has it... Hopefully that at least will help to get us all together.

So, my parents did their medical exams, it took them 2 days and it confused me because, they're not done yet. My father is scheduled to come back on May 23 because one immunization is not available. Then, my mother needs to come back anytime from April 7 onwards, because the doctor couldn't do her immunization that day. I'm not sure if they passed the medical examination but there are no problems with all their results, according to them, they were told that they can proceed to their interview.

It's a little frustrating because, we live far from Manila and that we have to fly (again!) to get those immunization, and even told my father that if his immunization still not available on May 23, he can get it in the US... so my father has to fly to be immunized, meaning more money to spend and no guaranty of the availability? I don't understand

I guess there's not much issue for my mother, because she can get that immunization (I don't know which) before her flight to the US.

Now, my question is, will the embassy still issue their visas, even without those immunizations yet? Or they will have to complete those immunizations first, then they will issue their visas?. I hope anyone can advice us to what's the best thing to do...thank you for all your input.

i think vaccinations are important, prior to them being approved their visas. But May is a long wait, can you not find a place that does the vaccinations before re-booking for them to go back to the panel doctor to confirm they had their shots?

Thank you for your reply. We can't get the immunizations from any other clinics, the embassy only takes the vaccination records and medical exam results from this specific clinic. I hope though, after the interview, the consul will give my parents a better advice regarding their immunizations.

So my mom still hasn't received her packet that was to be sent out on 03/06 but I got her to get her medical done on 03/21 by using her IV confirmation page. She had her chest x-Ray this morning and will be getting her vaccine on the day she pick up her medical. She only need 1 vaccine so that's good. I emailed the embassy twice to find out about the package but still reply to date. Her interview is next Friday so I'm hoping it's delivered before then.

I believe some consulates are different. The package should include the interview letter, as well as instructions on what to bring if anything.

After my post earlier they replied to my email and sent me a copy of the interview letter they claimed they mailed. The date on the letter is today. If she doesn't receive the package by next week I'll send her a copy of the one they sent me. Her interview is next Friday.

From my understand you need to bring a print out of the confirmation you get after completing the DS 260 (I'm assuming you mean the DS-260 IV application since the ds230 was replaced by the ds260). I sent a copy to my mom.
