I'm scared even more, for some reason at the NVC stage! It just seems to be so much more detailed. Can I confirm that I need to file a separate AOS I-864 for each parent?

What are the next steps in this process in a nutshell? I'm starting to prepare all of my forms and financial documents (requests for tax transcripts, pay stubs, letter of employment), but do I have to wait until the NVC sends a letter to say they have my case?

I'm confused at this stage I have to admit. Thank goodness for VJ!

Yes you do need separate forms for each person which means it's $88 each. Don't be scared just following their instructions and you'll be fine.

Next step is to call NVC in two weeks to see if they received your case from USCIS. hopefully USCIS will forward your case to NVC ASAP but it's taking up to 20 biz days after approval to even get it out.

Gathering your documents is a great idea (I have all my stuff ready) but you have to wait until your case is entered then invoiced in NVC system to get a notification from them to fill out the DS-261 and pay the AOS fee.

So after the case termination scare last night I was able to complete the DS-261 online and this morning when I checked it's showed the AOS fee available to be paid. Yay!!!!!

The only problem is I still haven't received any instructions from NVC to fill out the choice of agent form let alone pay the AOS fee. I'm going to pay it but maybe I should call them first...

Yes, AOS I-864 for each parent. Now, you will have to wait for the NVC number and Invoice Identification number to be assigned, before you can do anything else, it takes 2-8 weeks. You can start calling the NVC next week to follow up, to know if the numbers are all ready available for your case. Once the NVC number and IIN are assigned, you can log-in to https://ceac.state.gov/CTRAC/Invoice/signon.aspx to pay for AOS I-864 processing fee and wait for days to appear PAID in the payment portal (my mother's case was about 2 days). Once its paid, then you can start completing the AOS I-864 forms, print cover sheet, gather documents and send it to the NVC.

Don't wait for the instruction letter from the NVC, check your NVC status time to time, to be able to see when you can pay for Immigrant Visa Processing fee, because you can only complete the IV forms once it appears paid.

I just finished my mother's IV forms and here are the information that I didn't have that needed in the IV forms, gather this, if applicable to you, while waiting for you AOS and IV bill:

Name of Your Parent's Parents (your grandparents), Birthdates and birthplace, if not living anymore, year of death.

Information on children : address of children if they are not living with your parents (I have 5 siblings and 3 of them do not live with my parents, so it was challenging to contact them for their addresses, considering slow internet connection and they're working).

Employment record (if had worked or working): Name of Office or Employer, Address and Contact number; Name of Supervisor, Dates of employment

Education (if there's a background): Name of institution, Course (College or University), date of attendance

I think that was it..I will think of more and let you know .

Maybe if you go to this link, https://ceac.state.gov/ceac/ you can fill up the Choice of Agent because that's kind of weird, that's the first thing I filled up along with the AOS processing fee. Just try it.

I was able to complete the choice of agent form but that was by chance that I checked it. I was waiting for correspondence from NVC which I still have t gotten. My cases then showed they'll be terminated so called back NVC who told me that my cases are fine and to wait on instructions from NVC. I checked it again a few minutes later and it showed COA ready to be completed so I completed both but instill haven't received anything from NVC. Now I can pay the AOS fees.

I've heard that you do not have to wait for them to tell you to send the papers. As long as the bills are showing as paid, you can mail the documents off.

Thank you! I got both the case and invoice number the same day but I've seen where others had to call back a day or two after to get their invoice number. I would call back tomorrow to see if it's available then.

When you call be sure to give them your telephone number and email address for correspondence from NVC.

When you get the case and invoice numbers from NVC just keep checking https://ceac.state.gov/IV/Login.aspx to see if you can fill out the Choice of Agent form and pay for AOS. I still haven't revived any instructions from NVC but I was able to do my COA and now I can pay AOS fee.

Just got an email and txt 01/08/2014 for RFE.

I don't understand. I submitted every single document as per the instructions on I-130 for IR-5. What else could I be missing? Did they lose any of the documents I submitted? Now I have to wait for the actual letter to see what's missing. Ahhhhhhh

This is so frustrating. I called and spoke to tier 2 and she told me that she can't see as to what exactly is missing or what dies the letter say because she does not have access to the letter sent out. I would have to wait for the original letter on mail. ....... R u serious????? R u kiddin me? U work there and you r saying u have no idea or access to what is in the letter!!!!!!!

This while USCIS system is broken .....completely broken
