Hello all, new user here. Information in these forums has been greatly helpful, but now I'm stuck and need info ASAP.

We are in the middle of getting the forms for Packet 3 submission to the U.S. Embassy in Bangkok. We never received the Packet 3 by mail and were instructed by the embassy to just download the forms from their website. Now we're trying to get the Police Certificate, but it seems they "absolutely require" the cover letter of Packet 3 as the requesting letter from the U.S. Embassy.

Is there some other form, other than the Packet 3 cover letter, such as a copy of the NOA2, that would fulfill this requirement for the Royal Thai police?

Any advice from anyone who's gone through this process (especially those who never received Packet 3 by mail) would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

It seems we can never be sure of whats up in BKK. Members here on V J have used one of the NOA notices to get the police report in the recent past.

Yeah, we used NOA forms I believe, because she never received Packet 3. Have your fiance ask/plead if there's someone she can talk to speed it up or deal with this situation. They certainly can issue a letter, it's just a matter of who you need to talk to.

If they really want packet 3 for some bizarre reason, print it off of the embassy's website and hand it to them. Write your case number on the cover sheet.

Currently.... they have issued Ice the incorrect GC and we have tried 4 times to fix it. First time they had us send it to the incorrect address. Second time they said we used an expired form, which was the form they gave us. Third time was "oh sorry we lost the last page, can you send it again?." Fourth time is the gov is shut down. Will this ever be corrected in time for Ice to get the permanent GC? Stay tuned to find out. T_T

Does this mean he has to go in person to BKK to get it?
