How do you shovel snow and tweet at the same time? Seems to me you can do one or the other but not both.

I am guessing he took a ton of breaks. He didn't just tweet, he posed for photos too. I do wonder how much actual shoveling he got done. I hear, though, that his Tweets had the effect of bringing out ordinary Newarkers to help with the shoveling effort. Apparently Mayor Booker and his army of helpful volunteers dug out the entrance to a local hospital all by themselves.

Ouch. I bet that is the angle that they are going to run with on this one. However, if this is a planned vacation, wouldn't the Lt. Governor be at fault here?

Well, if the Mayor could energize volunteers to step up and help, then I guess he deserves credit for leading an successful effort. Being out there with the common man and mobilizing a worthwhile effort during this event sure is what people like to see from a person in a public leadership role. And it sure beats making excuses from sunny Florida...

I hardly doubt that the state was ever in any sort of danger of breaking down. A few alarmists whining is all. You really want Governor Christie helping people shovel their driveway? Have you seen this guy?

I love it when the anti government crowd complains when the government isn't there to provide services. This is what they lobby for. As they say, when you get what you want, you don't want what you get.

NOt sure who the "anti-governemnt" crowd is but I doubt it is very many people.

Of course there are a lot of Anti-big gvernement folks out there...... most know the difference between what clearly is the Governments responsibility and whats not.

Clearing Snow off of 295 is, meals on wheel to seniors (no matter their wealth) is not.

Point Pleasant Beach Mayor Blasts Christie Over Comments on Acropolis

Governor Chris Christie went too far in criticizing the Brick Township mayor regarding his handling of the blizzard, said Point Pleasant Beach Mayor Vincent Barrella at Saturday's reorganization meeting.

Christie should not have said that Brick Mayor Stephen C. Acropolis and "mayors should buck up and take responsibility that they didn't do their jobs," Barrella said, referencing quotes in an article in Saturday's Asbury Park Press.

"He shouldn't have told Mayor Acropolis to buck up," Barrella said. "The mayor and I know each other. We're not on each other's Christmas card lists, but we're not political adversaries either. If he said something, it's true."

Apparently, Christie was not happy that Acropolis had criticized how the state had cleared Route 70 and other state roads.

"This is going to be the new picture of New Jersey government," Acropolis had said.

Like Acropolis and Christie, Barrella is a Republican.

Well, there were major blizzards in 2003 and 2005 and I don't recall any fingers ever having been pointed at Bush for the local handling of them.

Here he is sneaking back from hawaii, He was gone for two weeks while New Jersey was snowed under. The worst disater in years and he's out getting leis. The Govenor is just the fall Guy here.
