Guys so when the interview date does get assigned do they email us Packet 4 right then and there, or do we still have to keep calling the NVC and asking if an interview date was assigned or not???

You may call them but rest assured they will email your packet 4 because the beneficiary needs it for the medical exam and in order to get inside the US consulate for the interview.

Despite my current frustration, I am still THRILLED to be in the NVC thread, rather than any USCIS thread...thank god we all escaped that mess!

Hi, just received hard copy from NVC our NVC Case no. and IIN no. January 4, 2010. Ive got one q's do we need to pay $404 for the immigrant visa fee ? i thought that it was already paid the time we applied our I130 in the early application ..Just want to make sure...thank you!!!

Yes you need to pay for it since it's a different fee now. The one you paid upon filing the I-130 is the petition for alien relative application fee ($355) at the USCIS. You need to pay the NVC the immigrant visa application fee of $330 plus the immigrant security surcharge of $74 so a total of $404. The petitioner also has to pay $88 to the NVC for the affidavit of support fee.

It depends. If your co-sponsor lives within the same household of your petitioner, he/she should fill-up and sign form I-864A. If he/she lives outside the household, he/she should fill-up and sign the form I-864 (same form with your petioner).

I don't know the answer to that one. But I'm sure you will receive an appointment letter from the NVC that has your interview date on it.

My documents were entered into the NVC AVR system on 12.29.2010. I hope we won't get any RFE

I got the email today Jan 5,2011 from the NVC -Checklist cover letter as below :

The NVC has received the requested Affidavit of Support form (I-864) for this case. However, we are

still waiting for the Immigrant Visa Application (DS-230) and corresponding civil documents for each

traveling applicant to be returned to National Visa Center for review. You will find the DS-230 form

along with complete instructions for submitting the civil documentation required for this case at

www.ImmigrantVisas.state.gov under the Applicant Document Processing link.

We urge you to send in the DS-230 form(s) and required civil documentation for each traveling family

member in one package to the National Visa Center (NVC). Sending the information in separately may

cause delays in the processing of the case.

But i already send DS230 and civil documents since Dec 20, sign by J.Desmond.
