OH NO!!! FORGOT DOCUMENT FOR NVC

So I just went through my documents for hubbys DS230 and i found my fathers copy of green card that i was supposed to include in the AOS packet, but i have it in my hand?RFE?! oh mannnnnn, since i caught it, can i just send it in with a letter explaining why im sending it??? this is a major set back, i was hoping to have interview by end of feb/mar but now im discouraged :( what can i do?? will they EVER EVER let you email something to them or maybe fax it, its not anything that needs to be signed, theyre getting a plain copy anyways....ughhhhh this will never end, i dont know what i was thinking! sorry for the rant, any advice helps :bonk:

based on what i read previously on this forum, you should email missing documents to NVC right away with the bar code coversheet and the cover letter explaining why you are sending it.

USCIS Journey

04/26/2010--Filed our marriage certificate in Seoul, S.Korea

04/30/2010--Wedding ceremony in Seoul, S.Korea

05/25/2010--NOA1

10/21/2010--Touched

10/22/2010--Touched (crossing fingers)

10/21/2010--NOA2 (not updated online didn't know about it until 10/26)

10/26/2010--Received a hard copy

NVC

10/28/2010--Case# assigned/Gave them both of our emails. Emailed DS3032

11/09/2010--AOS invoice generated online

11/09/2010--Paid AOS bill (processing)

11/09/2010--Sent DS3032 via email again

11/11/2010--AOS bill appeared PAID on line

11/12/2010--Received DS3032

11/15/2010--AOS arrived at NVC (according to USPS)

11/15/2010--Emailed DS3032 (this time with the scanned image)

11/17/2010--IV Bill invoice generated and paid. (in process now)

11/18/2010--IV bill showed PAID. awesome!

11/19/2010--Mailed DS230 (Priority mail because of the weekend)

11/22/2010--DS230 Delivered to NVC

12/03/2010--AOS & IV entered into system

12/08/2010--SIF

12/08/2010--Case Completed

12/30/2010--Medical exam passed

01/14/2011--Interview - Approved!

based on what i read previously on this forum, you should email missing documents to NVC right away with the bar code coversheet and the cover letter explaining why you are sending it.

Only a short list of Consulates are part of the electronic filing program. She can go ahead a "mail" the document. Use the AOS cover sheet and a short note. No need to wait for the checklist letter asking for it.

Facts are cheap...knowing how to use them is precious...

I am very curious! I have heard on other forums in similar situations to wait for the RFE. Apparently becuase they have no way of connecting what was already sent to what is now being sent. And that it is better to wait for them to expect something from you..... Im in a similar situation. Have you heard of anyone doing this before, and not being sent an RFE? I will start a new thread explaining my situation.

If you are referring to missing information for the initial I-130 petition it is advised to wait for an RFE as it is very difficult for your information to be matched up to your petition. In the OP's case they were sending additional information to NVC and had the barcoded cover sheet that allowed their missing document to be easily matched to their file.

YUP - them there barcoded coversheets from the online payment portal are mighty important, when sending things in.

I LOVE THE ONLINE PAYMENT PORTAL - tell yer friends to use it?

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
