I blame it on the Tea Baggers. Right wing nutters only help to provoke these kind of incidents IMO.

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

I blame it on New York not allowing members of protected classes to carry concealed handguns. The only difference between a Gay/black/whatever man/person on this side of Lake Champlain and the Gay/black/whatever man/person on the other side of Lake Champlain is 22 miles and that the one on this side can carry a handgun. Which one would YOU choose to assault?

The crime rate on this side of the lake is WAY down. They finished counting all the homicides for 2010 at 10 seconds past midnight yesterday and it is nearly 50% less than last year.
