I am planning on helping my parents immigrate to US. They are currently chinese citizen with pemenant recidency in Canada. As I read through the forum, I noticed that people mentioned that they would need their original birth certificates when they submit form DS-230. The problem is, they don't have birth certificates. They might be able to go back to china and get some form of certified documents proving their birth dates and places, but not their parents name. Is there anybody else here that was in the same boat? Thanks

They will need birth certs, marriage certs, police certs from China along with English translations, all of this can be got at the Notary office in China of their home town. Also will need police certs from any other country lived in as well as from Canada.
